Day 83 - Claymore (RAH) (12/4/25)

Another never-done-in-Classified character, Claymore! From the Special Mission: Brazil set, Claymore was a mix of parts from other characters, and can be again!

Claymore is a fucking LEGEND.

Just check out that file card! Hard working immigrant’s son, fucking does classified anti-terrorism shit using MARTIAL ARTS?
Daaaaaamn, this dude is Snake-Eyes-level hardsauce and he does it all in goddamn giraffe-print pants?

PUT. THIS. MAGNIFICENT. BITCH. IN. CLASSIFIED.

I had Special Mission: Brazil, y’all. I know what I’m talking about here.

Ohhhhh and while we are at it I want the rest of the “boys from Brazil” but especially practical-colors Wet-Suit and desert ops Leatherneck. Dial-Tone and Mainframe also, but their recolors are more random than purposeful.

He's also one of the higher ranking Joes.
I noticed that as a kid!
He felt very fucking *serious*. Like no lasers here, man. Which is hilarious since he shared a headsculpt with Footloose, arguably the least “serious” Joe.

Which reminds me: original headsculpt for Claymore this time, please.

I never had him, never even knew about this set until sometime after the Internet, so he hasn't ever been a big deal for me, but your passion for him is one of those things with this line. Once again, someone on here expressing their excitement and affection for a figure gets me kinda excited for them as well.

That makes him even more dangerous huh? If Storm Shadow is coming toward you, it's safe to assume he can kick your ass and kill you will all the shit he's carrying around; better get your rifle ready. John Zullo coming at you looks ready to ask if you think there's enough chips at his superbowl party but you're distracted wondering how my chicks that mustache earns him and what year of Firebird he drives. Then tadow, you're on the ground and broken in several places, never saw it coming.

We had a long time county clerk named John Zurlo, so I was about to call bullshit on the "John Zullo isn't anyone real" until I looked it up.

Also, that Battle Corps card art...I think Zullo has spent a little too much time in the Jungles of Brazil alone. Yikes.

Nah.
Not because he's not a good figure or anything, but it's just one of those 'army man' figures that I never owned. Thus, no nostalgia for him and he's not crazy enough to get me excited as an adult. Just an easy one to save some money on. Although I felt the same about Footloose and I keep HARD-eyeing that figure. So...

I'm a nah for Claymore. He looks like he can't tell if he's Footloose, Recondo, or Gung-Ho at the same time, and that file card reads like an over-enthusiastic fanboy wrote their OC into official GI Joe lore. Starts out strong with the "hard working immigrant in the quarries of Vermont" but then spirals with "personally recruited by Hawk but only for missions he likes" and "ALL FORMS of martial arts!" and philosopher AND sniper AND explosives expert AND polyglot AND respected by ALL members of ALL branches of the armed forces

His bio reads like that guy you meet at a holiday party who claims he's done and knows everything from Kung-Fu to astrophysics. That guy ALWAYS has a mustache.
