Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

I'm pretty sure the wrist peg is the same across all the 1.0 and 2.0 bodies. I put some 1.0 bare orc hands on a couple of my 2.0 goblins and the fit is the same. The new Gobhollow set coming out next year looks like it has the same bare 1.0 hands on 2.0 forearms.

Thanks - for some reason I always picture the older figures having much thinner wrist pegs (or at least not as sturdy) but I was looking at my old, bought-it-second-hand minotaur with kind of weak wrist pegs thinking it might be worth picking up/swapping out some of the newer grips for him. (always hesitant to mess with the older, irreplaceable figures but he wasn't in mint condition when I got him so one of his hands is pretty wobbly.)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're compatible. I had the older leather hands pack and they worked with 1.0 bodies, all the pegs look pretty similar.

Although, one thing that always worries me with this line is handswapping, which is weird, because swapping entire limbs/torsos isn't an issue. The pegs always feel like they might separate from the hand if I caught them on a bad day, but hot water does make it a lot easier.

I've never fully trusted the hand pegs from this line because they're so stubby compared to every other line. I feel a lot more secure swapping hands on most other lines because there's more THERE there to pop and swap (and the plastic is less brittle, too).

So these “Legends of the Colosseum” armory experience builders…

Since I won’t be at LegionCon, I sure hope the $45+ “premade” figures they put up on their website won’t be asymmetrical as all hell… it would be nice to get some flesh pieces in non-human/orc colors but I’m not interested if it’s “oh yeah! Here’s a fury orc… but his right arm and left leg are the new style armor pieces!”, hoping if they can’t help themselves at the very least the matching colored unarmored limb is included, but that’s wishing for the moon… of course best case would be I can just give them $10 for the nude flesh pieces like they did with the Barbarian last year (but of course that wasn’t planned, the 4H only make keen business decisions that make sense by accident, things they do by choice bite them in the ass)

I straight up can't understand anything about what their post on Legends of the Colosseum means. After being legitimately impressed by their marketing on their last weave, this one feels back to marketing copy as created by running it through Babelfish.

So not a new Cosmic Legion wave ...

I do plan on going to Legion Con this year but I'm not sure I need any build-a-gladiator figures. I would rather have had a second round of knights, but we've been getting a lot of those lately, too. I guess we'll see what pieces — heads in particular — are available.

Legends of the Coliseum looks promising. I loved the Knight Armory figures that the 4H sold after the con—some of my favorite figures in the line. Hope these Coliseum figures are as nice and easy enough to get from their website afterwards.

I wasn't a huge fan of how the Knight Armory figures were handled. Higher price. No secondary heads, which was weird since the idea was all these knight parts in different colors. Seems like they should have packed a second head with each figure, especially as almost all regular priced figures come with a second head. I would have bought more Armory Knights if they came with additional heads.

I'm not really interested in Gladiator Armory figures, as I feel like I already have plenty of gladiator figures. And frankly, the Xesray gladiators are better figures...for essentially the same price. Like Mint in Boks says, the upside may be orc bodies on the newer, slimmer parts. But...not for Armory full-figure pricing. If they sell those parts for $10 like they did the flesh parts from the Knights Armory event, it may be cool if only to stock up on some naked parts for swapping.

Kinda glad I'm not interested in the Gladiator Armory figures, as I've been spending too much lately. They usually offer something else at LegionsCon too, right? Those Crossroads figures still need to go up for order. I seem to recall them being a LegionsCon offering.

I do hope we get another round of knights in basic colors. Hopefully metallic colors but not at Armory pricing. We could really use a shiny blue knight. Not sure what other color knights you guys want?

I had hoped that they'd return to the knights theme with the new armory experience, but maybe with an update for the female knights on the 2.0 body in the same way that the Valiant Knight updated the 1.0 version. Gladiators makes sense for the theme as it kind of lends itself to the idea of mixing up mismatched parts, but luckily it's not something I'm interested in either.

As for colours, a metallic colbolt blue would be great, but they could also do armour in various states of disrepair. For example, there could be iron armour parts that were painted to look heavily rusted, and bronze/copper colour parts with patina paintwork. It could also use the undead theme too, with zombie/skeleton parts in place of the bare limbs option (although that might be a bit over done lately).

I would also just generally love to see more bronze/copper coloured knights, although I made my own mix/match version when Sir Andrew arrived:

Kind of went for a dark souls look, but with an autumnal vibe.

It would also be great if the mix/match option was available online for whatever armory experience they do, although I can understand that it might be a bit of a nightmare logistically (with a high chance that you end up with a bunch of parts that just don't sell).

The armoury knights gave me some really nice bases to put a few stray head sculpts onto, but otherwise I thought they were nice but not necessary. The black panther head and tail DO look really cool on the black leather armor buck, and I stuck the spare elven knight head (the beefy one) on a gunmetal body and he looks fantastic. But like... for that price, they should've come with a head to look that good.

Hoping I can skip the coliseum figures entirely since the gladiator part of this line has never really held a lot of interest for me.

And Ashtalon, thanks for the reminder about the crossroads figures - those DID capture my attention. Really hoping ot get one of each of those.

I can see the strategy behind these Armory figures and I'll give the Horsemen credit where it's due. I specifically love this line for its modular design. I love daydreaming about new armor and weapon combinations, hunting for parts on eBay or from 3D designers/printers, and hand-painting everything to look cohesive. I think Poxxus and Necronominus might be the only figures I own that are still rocking all of their original kit.

These Armory figures give more casual collectors, non-painters, or folks who might be new to the line a chance to pick up either a single generic warrior or pick up a few and have a similar, albeit limited popping and swapping experience. These aren't for me, but I think it's a clever way of dressing up the same repaint waves 4H has always done. It also gives the Horsemen a huge pile of evergreen stock they can keep in their web store for a consistent revenue stream and drag around to conventions for impulse purchases.
