Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

I don't have IG any longer, but it looks like there's a 2 pack of zombies and a separate soft goods set for preorder coming.
Also a skeleton blind box in neon colors, as well as an all black skeleton. You can get a CASE of 12 to get all the colors and garauntee of the black one for $239.88.
No price on the zombies that my friend shared yet.
Zombies are singles, not a two pack. $42 preorder price for each of them or $55 at retailers later. Soft goods (different colors than on the base figures) are $20 preorder and $25 retail.

They look cool, but not at that price. I need to cut back right now anyway, and since I have no connection to these figures, the price doesn't help sway me towards a purchase. They'll also be too big to fit in with my Rick Grimes and Shaun of the Dead figures, so I'll be passing.

Also don't need neon or multicolor skeletons, so I can pass on those as well. I just ordered the graveyard set they had up this week, so I'll have 8 of the same colored skellies when they come in, so I'll be good on that front.

I hope you like him. He’s pretty solid. And looks good with the full helmet head if you don’t like the hair. I don’t imagine him turning you into collecting the line, but I hope you can at least enjoy him as a potentially standalone offering.

The zombies are kinda interesting. The male gives off serious Romero zombie vibes with those plaid shirts.

I don’t really like the purple hair for the female.

The skeletons are a no go. Blind boxes suck. And it would have been much more interesting if the colors matched existing character skeletons. Blue to match the Skeletor homage guy. Gold to match the gold one. Neon green to match Scaphoid. Etc. I don’t want any of the colors offered.

I need you guys to not judge me for this, but I pre-ordered Otho. Just had to. The color scheme, the swords; he just looks really nice and I feel like I gotta try a current-gen 4H figure despite my problems with them as a company and their previous products.
Their current crop of knights really are miles better than the originals. If you're going to pick up one Legions figure, Otho's a good one.

I really really hate they’re doing blind boxes, I mean sure, it’s candy colored skellies who gives a crap… but when this works for them wait until it’s new armor or flesh colors then it’ll be a lot less fun.

The zombies are doing nothing for me. I really wanted a plain zombie, like this one looks like stripped down, because I saw a cool custom making Red Death into a mummy… I’m not going to spend $42 a pop ($20 of which is apparently for an outfit I’m gonna throw away) building a mummy army when the Horsemen will probably just rip that same guy off later when they need another graveyard filler wave (they reused Sun wu Kong’s armor, they’ll reuse the Egyptian gods’ someday too)

I like the purple hair on the lady zombie (apparently by “oh you know, just zombies like in those modern zombie movies we’re all seeing all the time these days!” they meant 40 years old “Return of the Living Dead” and only by way of having only seen the poster and having never actually met, talk to, or possibly seen an actual punk/goth/alt girl) I hate the fact she doesn’t get shoes (yeah, because leather boots aren’t a huge part of punk fashion!) because they don’t have the parts library, that’s just lazy, maybe just do two dudes in the two outfit variants, maybe even some other paint changes (that way getting a zombie in both looks cost $84 not $104) and swing back to zombie women when you have a few more heads and feet options in your “Mythic Build System Library”… also the alt outfit is hideous did she die of embarrassment being seen in an orange top and green leggings with that hair color? Like the Fairly Odd Parents puked on Invader Zim over here! … also weird the male zombie is early 90’s alt and she’s punk, like give him a leather jacket so they’re both at least generic street toughs or something… IDK maybe they died at different times and don’t know each other, they’re not a two pack, they don’t owe us matching!

Whatever, I’m rambling, I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yums so I hope whoever likes these enjoys them, they’re just aggressively not for me!

Yeah, nothing pisses me off like blind boxes. Just let me buy what I want. I really wish those would go away or at least offer a ‘full set’ option so I can just get one of everything. The 12 pack at least gives you the guarantee of the chase but I wish it was just a 5 pack.

I'm almost relieved how little interest this generated for me. I didn't need to spend more money on a medieval four-pack of zombies to use with my Mythic Legions figures like I did with the graveyard skeletons last year (which remains the best bargain I've gotten from 4H - I use those skeletons in SO MANY PHOTOS). The female zombie is slightly interesting wondering if I can kitbash her a bit to make a sort of trio of wyrd sisters using the two Christmas Past figures, but I didn't preorder the repaint of that figure yet anyway so might just be a pass for me. I absolutely would've been pulled in by a quick and dirty multipack of zombies, but these are honestly like... too fancy for me?

Absolutely not on the blind box skeletons. Terrible idea. Blind boxes are a nightmare. Particularly for those colors - if they were blind boxes of yellowed bone, dusty gray, blackened, or mossy green skeletons that would look good in my ML display I might take a flyer on a few of them because I wouldn't mind having duplicates to create a horde. These are too twee for me.

Let's all agree to vote with our wallets here. It's the only way to stop them from blind-boxing everything.

The number of 4H ladies with bare feet... I'm not willing to rule out fetishization. In fact, I think it's more likely than not.

I think the blind boxes would be a nice item for them to have at cons. People might balk at a $55 figure if they’ve never heard of them before. $20 for a figure to try out is more reasonable and people seem to LOVE those blind boxes gambles at cons of my local con is anything to go by. But since these are only going to be offered online with just a few extra for a handful of cons, I don’t get the approach. I think a hybrid would be better. Give us a way to buy a full set or specific colors, maybe at $25 each with that $5 off being the risk of a blind box? Make the blind boxes con exclusive versions with nothing exclusive but the blind box packaging. Loyal fans can buy what they want online and newbies or die hard as can pick up some blind boxes at cons.

I’m loving the zombies though. I was expecting the waist wrap zombie in a multipack like the skeletons but with each having one of the unique zombie heads. So not only did they do everything I thought but then went and gave us the modern clothing, so that was a welcome surprise. With them offering the clothing packs I wonder if it would have been better to offer the loin cloth zombies as the figure and the cloth goods completely separate. What they did was a good compromise of a few deluxe figures and a few bare bones figures. I could have done without the ‘worker’ tools but would have liked the headless horseman neck stump included here too since they offered that in the undead head pack. Going to pick up a handful of zombies for sure!

One thing of note from the live stream, they consider the graveyard almost the opposite of Figure Obscura. FO is meant to give us specific characters rather than generic archetypes. The much talked about leprechauns wouldn’t fit in the FO line as there isn’t a particularly famous leprechaun outside of cereal and horror movies. But a generic leprechaun would fit info the graveyard. Seems they may have gotten too niche with that line name but they did seem to hint that we could get more ‘generic’ kinds of creatures and characters here rather than in FO which is very character based.
