Figura Obscura

we need a 3 headed rat wearing chicken bones on its head for Christmas.
Wait have you been in my house during the holidays? Does my cat know you?
🤣

Re: Scrooge:
There’s a lot of “look at your own corpse, Ebeneezer” energy from GoCYtC in the story, so maybe a dead/undead Scrooge head to go with the human one? Then he’s a gross zombie if you want him to be?

Was it four years ago today that the original Figura Obscura was released? Wasn’t it on Krampusnacht 2021 that the first Krampus was offered?

Man, how time flies.

Yep Krampus was the first. He’s the only FO figure not officially packaged under the FO branding since they really didn’t know they were creating a new line rather than just a one-off figure until the packaging was finalized. Hard to believe how much the line has grown and evolved since then! It’s one of my favorites right now. Even figures like Monkey King and Ganesha that I don’t have much of a connection too are undeniably well crafted and stand on their own as impressive artistry.

A friend in West Virginia who ordered the Mouse King when it first went on sale already got it in the mail on Friday.

That's pretty fast for the 4H getting something out.

I’ve been genuinely curious for years now what exactly drives their shipping order. I ordered an all-in within seconds of the first drop going up and still don’t have a shipping notification. I then went back a few hours later after looking things over and ordered 2 more. I’m curious if the non-all-in’s arrive before or not. They certainly don’t seem to prioritize all-ins. I’ve had some take weeks and some ship in just a couple of days. I know they have a system of some kind but what that is or how it functions has been a maddening mystery to me haha.

The recent "in stock" sale they had back on 11/15 took 3 weeks to ship. In that time I had a package arrive from POLAND that I ordered the same day.

They may have a method, but it seems like madness sometimes.

I mean I get they have a shipping team of like 3 people and even with bringing in a few extra helpers for these big drops, filling hundreds to thousands of orders is going to take time. I think we all are understand of that. But when orders placed at the beginning get skipped over for orders placed later is when I don’t understand the process they’re using to fill orders. I can only assume they’re doing something like packing “like” orders all at once? Maybe everyone that ordered just one mouse king all go out before they move on to those with two or more items in the order?

Not mad, it’s always been this way, just always fascinating to me how things work.

Warehouses I've worked in with 2-3 man packing teams (ages ago) triaged by location, quantity, product type (some stuff just took more effort to pack together or couldn't even be together because of material or hazard).

Location was the biggest one. Even now places like Ringside seem to have have a Canada Palette that they fill up because that's the rate they got with the carrier.

Mezco seemed to always prioritise me in Toronto over anyone else I knew who had the same pick up. Usually always had a week lead.

Also, it could be picker's whim.

This dude got five of each knight. I'm hungover. This dude got one mouse King. Lazy wins out.
