Diamond Select Toys is Shutting Down

For anyone else still interested in the Diamond bankruptcy legal mess, a bunch of loose ends were supposed to be addressed in court this week. Apparently, as the below article describes, only some progress was made and the issues will be covered in court at the end of September.

I was hoping the court hearings would settle the consigned inventory questions to allow new Diamond to sell products more freely, which would clarify which, if any, of the DST pre-orders are at the warehouse and able to ship. As Big Nerdy said on Jay C's YouTube channel last week, while bbts and ee pre-orders stay open there is still a chance for those products. I thought the hearings this week would have provided some certainty to bbts and ee about which products are available to allow them to cancel pre-orders for products that won't get released. Maybe that will now happen in early October. Or, maybe that clarification is not related to the consigned inventory issue or any legal issues with the bankruptcy. Maybe bbts and ee are just trying to provide a little hope during this bleak time (see Tracking Toy Tarriffs thread).

DCBS finally canceled Muppets SWEETUMS & ROBIN and the MS ANNIHILUS
Sorry, what does DCBS stand for? Bummer, I assume the remaining stores will be canceling DST pre-orders soon, too. I was really hoping those Muppets figures somehow snuck in before the axe.

Question:

There are a few toys that are previews exclusive. I'm thinking of the black and white Bloody Red Sonia by Boss Fight, and a lot of Hiya product. Like the new Ghost in the Shell Motoko due this month.

I never actually thought about it but do we think those are screwed over by this. Anyone know how that works when it was just exclusive to the distribution all these months later.

I would assume Hiya would be able to sell the items themselves if the "company" is dead and no actual product was shipped to them.
