Is anyone able to explain how pre-orders work for ee and bbts? I'm curious because I just noticed that there are DST items marked 'Pre-Order Sold Out' or 'Pre-Sold Out' while other DST items are still available to pre-order. I assume that each etailer has pre-orders open for a set amount of time for each item, and then they submit their order quantity to the toy manufacturer based on the number of pre-orders plus some extra. Is that right? If so, do the etailers pay any amount up front?
I assume that ee and bbts have already submitted their orders for all the items marked as pre-sold out and may have already paid DST some amount. Since DST hasn't sent them a refund, they're assuming the items will arrive. Considering Ad Populum has apparently been pretty uncommunicative across the board, I wouldn't be surprised if that order update/refund has been MIA. I wonder if ee and bbts have submitted their orders for the items that went on pre-order more recently.
Again, I appreciate anyone who has the patience to read through my rambling thoughts about a dead company and share their knowledge and insights. Please let me know if my understanding of things is way off.
