Diamond Select Toys is Shutting Down

And there is Annihilus at the bottom, for those still clinging to that door in the frozen sea.

I felt like this would be the case the moment that buyout happened based off conversations I've had with comic shop people, but I know people really wanted those Marvel characters and I really wanted the Lord of the Rings so... I'm just glad we have closure.

*Shins - New Slang*
Its time Hasbro. Start the experiment of MTO with smaller characters in a multipack. Annhilus and Blastaar (classic) with some silly extras. $80.

My local store has also just notified me about the cancellation of HotD Daemon. I'm sure all of my MS preorders will soon follow suit as well.

Did anything happen with that booth at SDCC, or was it just an ad for other companies?

I'm still hoping that if the Annihilus figures aren't made sitting in a warehouse somewhere, that at least the tooling is done. That way some shady people over there can get figures to aliexpress.

Which players that should have known better said these were still coming? MSWord? Zach Oat?
Knowing how much higher-ups lie, he easily could have believed what he was telling us was true.

As someone that frequents the Minimates forum I can assure you Zach wouldn't ever outright lie. He has said on multiple occassions that he didn't know the answer to something. He has gone out of his way to help multiple people get returns sorted including me. He's a solid dude.

I don't know about that for certain. The Star Trek fandom who were waiting on the Enterprise C from Diamond for years were strung along pretty hard with everything from outright lies to vague answers. All seemingly to keep interest in what, in hindsight, was a line they had no intention of continuing even though they had promoted the E-C quite a bit and made a gold SDCC exclusive version. And that had nothing to do with bankruptcy but rather just not being honest with the fans until everyone basically just gave up.

Now I'm not saying Zach was directly involved with that, but his name did come up a few times during those "stringing fans along" days. I believe he was the marketing contact, but I don't remember for certain.

I think suggesting Zach wouldn't lie, based entirely around him sometimes admitting he doesn't know an answer or facilitating a return is.. overly generous, to say the least. Zach would absolutely lie. 99% of people will lie if their job is at stake.
