DC Studios Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

I personally think a solo Metamorpho movie would be a lot of fun.

Man Ramona Fradon could bring it.

A truly amazing lady. As kind and considerate as she was talented. She was so nice to her fans.

Except for that time she got a hold of the Infinity Gauntlet and was bopping people in the face with it. Then she was little out of control.

She was drawing right up until the day she died. Because that's what she loved to do.

RIP, Ramona. They must be making some great comics up in heaven these days.

When she took off a decade or so to be with her kids she subbed on an issue of the FF. It was so great. I think its her only Marvel work. If only she had done a long run might have provided a solid run between Kirby and Byrne.

Kind of old news I know, but just in case you didn't see it:

I'm holding out hope that Warner Brothers and DC Studios comes to San Diego this year. I know they said they wouldn't, but I hope they change their minds. Supergirl, Green Lantern and Peacemaker are all in various stages of development. Some updates would be nice.

So let's say you're an exec at DC Studios and James Gunn wants your input on some casting decisions.

Who would you cast for ....

Batman

Wonder Woman

Green Arrow

Nightwing

The Flash

The Joker

Batgirl

Zatanna

Assuming Superman, Supergirl and the Green Lantern shows do well and this DCU thingie takes off, what characters and stories do you want to see?

I'd still love a Giffen and DeMatteis JL movie. Or a show! I recognize and respect the need for a proper and great classic style JL first, but I need to see Batman lay Guy Gardner out with one punch on screen please.

I'd love to see Bill Skarsgard's take on the Joker, personally. He already did one iconic evil clown, why not another? He's quickly becoming this generation's Bela Lugosi, and one of my favorite actors. With all the little quirks he worked into Pennywise and Orlok, I'd love to see what he could bring to Joker.

Matt Reeves is apparently staying on as writer for The Batman 2, but no longer directing. Filming isn't to start until next March.

Online scuttlebutt is Reeves is having personal problems and can't devote time to film making right now. I really hope that is not the case. He seems like a good dude in the interviews I've seen with him. I wish him all the best.

As far as DC Studios goes, right now we appear to be in a holding pattern. I think everyone's kind of holding their breath waiting to see how Superman does. If it's a big hit then I suspect there will be many projects getting the green light. If it only does so-so or bombs, we'll get Supergirl, Green Lantern and Peacemaker Season 2 and that's it. And even Supergirl might be a maybe. Don't forget what happened to the Leslie Grace Batgirl movie. It got deleted right off the ol' server.

I don't know what Warners is going to do if Superman flops. They may just use DC as an IP farm for Max live action shows and cartoons and forget about big budget theatrical releases. Or ... they could just sell the brand outright to the highest bidder. I don't know if either of those scenarios are likely, but I'm keeping them in mind as possibilities.

Or, you know, the way the economy is going, no one may have the money to go to the movies anymore, so it's all a moot point.

Man, I'm really depressing myself. I better stop now.
