SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

Great. Online all damn day, and it pops up in stock when I’m driving to pick up my mother-in-law (who I adore just for the record). Were any non-Premium members able to get a set?

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

I’ve been on the way out with Hasbro anyway…and mass market retail lines in general. We’re in August, and my Marvel Legends purchases this year have been Husk, Marrow, Banshee, She-Hulk, and Psylocke/Thanos. That used to be a month’s worth of Marvel Legends purchases for me, and acquiring a...

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

Well, on the bright side, at least I didn’t blow $50 on a premium membership in order to get this set. I figured that if it sold out, that’s $50 I can put towards Shanna. I didn’t even want Sauron or Rogue.

    MAFEX Marvel Figures

Yeah, you can add Mafex to my growing list of lines that a) aren’t providing enough value in relation to their asking price, and b) are going off on way too many tangents that I’m simply not interested in. That’s a statement that applies to me personality, not a generalization. After over 25...

    MAFEX Marvel Figures

BBTS has handled Tariffpalooza very poorly. I get that they have to protect themselves, but they keep reversing field. As a consumer, I’m fine with the tariff surcharge being calculated when the shipment is ready and being given the opportunity to opt out if I find that surcharge to be...

    MAFEX Marvel Figures

I always preferred Hobby Link Japan over Ami Ami due to their Private Warehouse feature and easy cancellation policy. I’m not familiar with Hobby-Genki, but with prices going up and my purchases becoming fewer and further between, I should probably be shopping around a bit more.

    MAFEX Marvel Figures

Iceman was an immediate preorder, but as much as I want to like the Punisher, there are just too many issues for me to overlook…and this is coming from someone whose preferred look for the Punisher IS the Mike Zeck version. They went overboard with the paint around the eyes on the sculpts, the...

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

About the only negative critique I have of Psylocke so far is that the flesh paint coverage could be better on the molded blue upper and lower torsos. It’s not egregious and doesn’t ruin what is otherwise a very good figure or anything like that, but I wouldn’t call it a nitpick either. The...

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I think the general lack of availability/FOMO contributes to that a bit. I also think it benefits by comparison to the average ML female figure. It’s a good figure that I’m happy to have in my collection, but it hasn’t made my Revoltech or Mafex Psylockes expendable.

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Ah, the best laid plans of mice and senior management. “We’ll get store exclusive collectors items, they will be part of out summer planogram, we’ll have a street date so that we can have them on hand in every Target store across the nation, and on that street date, we will roll out our brand...

I think there will definitely be opportunities for those who missed out today to pick up a set, but it will require a bit of due diligence and follow up.

    Todd's single best DC figure

Alan Scott Green Lantern. For me, that figure was the full realization of the line’s potential. The Spectre is a close second.

If memory serves, they usually restock at least once when it comes to Target Hasbro exclusives. I seem to remember an environment very similar to this one surrounding the Storm/Thunderbird two pack several years ago where each Target in my area had one case initially and then got two more cases...

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I should be so excited that I found a set, not to mention grateful given how many of you are still in the hunt, but this whole experience has left a really bad taste in my mouth. I know it’s me, because none of this is new. Maybe it’s my advancing age, or maybe it’s just burnout after over...

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

The Psylocke/Thanos set was my fourth Marvel Legends purchase this year, and my fifth overall counting my She-Hulk preorder. We’re 2/3 of the way through July. That used to be a month’s worth of Marvel Legends purchases for me, and a slow one at that. Unfortunately, it just so happens that...

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I’ve always been a big proponent of “letting your fingers do the walking”. (I’m showing my age here.) However, I got caught up in the “Gotta be there when the doors open!” self imposed frenzy this time, so I was already out and about. Great advice in general, though. The scenario you...

    Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I was able to get a set at the second Target I went to. So all’s well that ends well? No. First, too many other collectors like Reno haven’t been able to get a set, and I’m not one to celebrate while others are still having trouble finding a set. Second, they say “Don’t hate the playa, hate...

It can take awhile to appear. I’m up now and checking periodically. I successfully did this with Warbird last year. I wish I could find a time stamp on when I placed that order, but the online receipt only shows what time I picked it up. It’s ridiculous to have to jump through these hoops...

    My hypothetical McFarlane Multiverse continuation.

Yeah, the last McFarlane figure I picked up was Hawkgirl (Kendra), and in my eyes, she’s near flawless. When I start paring down my McFarlane collection next year to just the figures that I’m truly happy with, regardless of character choice, I should be left with an eclectic, but satisfying...

    My hypothetical McFarlane Multiverse continuation.

I have no problem with McFarlane continuing with the DC license in some way, shape or form. It will make a lot of collectors that enjoy the line happy and certainly won’t hurt anyone who doesn’t enjoy the line, so why not? My hope would be that if McFarlane does continue with the DC license...

    Mattel DC Figures

I’m at the stage of the game where I would rather pay a premium for a BAF on eBay than be stuck with more unwanted figures to unload. I’m pushing 60, so as others have said, Mattel is going to really have to bring it to get me to invest long term in another line. Honestly, I’d probably be...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

I’ve been buying a lot of McFarlane DC Multiverse figures this year. I have to be careful, because that usually ends with me making purchases I regret, but so far, so good with: Wildcat, Orion, Rebirth Batman (digital), Power Girl (reg and plat), Guy Gardner (reg), Captain Cold (reg), Adam...
