for Starhawk!
Neca also does the immediate charging on their store. And I hate it, but I have a lot more faith in Neca sticking around than Nerdzoic. Or Super 7 who does it too.
Mine was $98 shipped from Hobby Genki. Not sure what the tariff situation will end up being like though.$135.00 for Iceman?!?! Is BBTS on crack or is this the new Trumpian hellscape tariff-induced price?
AmiAmi, Hobby Link Japan, and Hobby Search won’t charge you until it’s in. N2G are often cheaper than the others but want to be paid off 14 days before the announced release date, which is not ideal for Medicom stuff as most of their stuff frequently slips by at least 1-4 months.
Ok, I placed a pre-order with nin-nin-game last night and they charged me immediately. Not sure why, but never again.
I didn't realize companies ever even did this kind of thing for pre-orders until I placed an order with Nerdzoic a few months ago. Gotta be more careful.
Yeah, all my small Canadian etailers charge up front and it definitely curbs that impulse.
BBTS has handled Tariffpalooza very poorly. I get that they have to protect themselves, but they keep reversing field. As a consumer, I’m fine with the tariff surcharge being calculated when the shipment is ready and being given the opportunity to opt out if I find that surcharge to be unacceptable. That’s what they’ve been doing with preorders that were placed before this debacle started. It’s been a negligible amount on the preorders I’ve had come in. Less than 5%, I think.$135.00 for Iceman?!?! Is BBTS on crack or is this the new Trumpian hellscape tariff-induced price?
Nerdzoic says he gets charged a fee from his credit card processor (?) whenever an order gets canceled. I think every store deals with that when they take money up front. He's talked about Hasbro canceling preorders for Black Series re-releases and having to deal with returning funds to everyone while losing a fee on every order to his payment processor.I really wouldn't care much except that both Nerdzoic and nin-nin charge you 10% to 15% to cancel a pre-order. I know there are credit card and money conversion fees from USD to JPY that get charged, but it also appears to be because they both have rather manual systems for cancelling that involve them to actually do something so I sort of get it. But not 15% get it.
I ate the 15% just to learn a lesson. They both also hold ALL of your items in an order until the last item comes in. I placed an order with nin-nin that also had the in-stock Figuarts Beetlejuice in it so they were going to hold that thing for about a year I guess. That's just gross. Never again, or definitely only in-stock orders from either place.
I've ordered from nin-nin before on in stock items and had a great experience. Such a bummer that they're so bad with pre-orders. Everything I bought had a "pay later available" tag on it, so maybe adding that Beetlejuice into the order is what fucked me. I don't really care at this point what the logistics were; I'm just done with pre-orders from those places.
