MAFEX Marvel Figures

And on queue they'll show a nice deluxe version of Iceman at SDCC with ice slide and all.... :p

The only Medicom/MAFEX product I've ever purchased was 1/6th scale New 52 Superman because I won a blind auction for him at a local comic book store for $20 (retailed for nearly 10 times that at the time). I think that everyone else just assumed that it would go so high that they didn't bother bidding, or everyone just really hates New 52 that much. In general, I just refuse to pay Medicom's prices and have never seriously considered any of their 1/12th scale figures for that reason alone. Now that the bootleg versions of those are getting significantly better, it's even less likely that I ever would invest in the real deal.
I just bought an awesome huge ice slide off eBay! But honestly there are so many different looks for Bobby and I do displays from different eras so I would still take one that looked like the amazing friends version they put out but bulkier. I'd love a white one with a blue wash.

Err, there are no 1:6 scale figures in the Mafex line. I've also never seen Medicom make that scale in any other line, either, but it's certainly possible I missed it if they did used to have another line in that scale.

Bobby looks great, to a degree I kinda feel anyone who doesn't adore the gorgeous finish in those pics may actually be certifiable*. Plus given the whole 'Medicom's promo pics are the worst in the business' aspect, the final result should look even better.

As for Frank, it's cool they're doing the 80s Mike Zeck look, though I'm not so sure about the eyeliner..! Might give the smaller pair of pistols to Deadpool, as two Magnums, a hunting pistol and an Uzi are surely enough for him to be doing with.

* Speaking of, I saw a video today of a guy who decided his chrome Mando needed an acrylic wash, messing up the finish to a horrifying degree. "So what did we learn?" "We learned not to do that again", etc.

It's this guy here, It's by Medicom under the Real Action Heroes line:

Retailed for $199 at the time I bought it for $20 in a blind auction. It's the only product I've ever owned from that company. I'm going to say it was around 2014ish.

What kind of buffoon would do that? (Finds said buffoon after a quick search.)
Oh. Ya, that tracks.

I was one of the ones who went to Target on release day for the Storm set and had them pulled from the back. Me and 2 others were there and they only let us get 1 per person. Then they showed up everywhere a couple weeks later and eventually went on clearance.

I had bad luck with my RAH Vader, Spawn, and Gatchaman vinyl and pleather materials. Which is why I'm worried about Rogue's jacket.

Interesting, had no idea they did these. Is it any good, and how's the articulation? Looks vaguely like a Hot Toys figure. Did they do other figures like this?

Feel free to call the appropriate authorities on me for saying this, but... Iceman feels like a steal for $100? He comes with the ice-slide. He's the same price as Punisher.

Also, this head:

Iceman was an immediate preorder, but as much as I want to like the Punisher, there are just too many issues for me to overlook…and this is coming from someone whose preferred look for the Punisher IS the Mike Zeck version.

They went overboard with the paint around the eyes on the sculpts, the shoulders give me Toy Biz era Marvel Legends feels, the skull looks more friendly than menacing, and the thickness of the belt makes an already exaggerated upper body look even worse. I never met a Mafex figure I didn’t like before now, but I guess there’s a first time for everything. Hopefully we’ll get a dark blue variant down the line with some of these issues fixed…or better yet, some of them will be fixed before production…but until then, I’ll stick with the Walgreens exclusive ML version.

Yeah I ordered Iceman as soon as I saw him up on Hobby-Genki last night. Might get another one before it's all said and done. Punisher I'm waiting on as I just don't know if I want him.

Where is everyone pre-ordering? Usualliy I go with HLJ, but they're selling these at $105 and Venom at $144. Never seen an import price that high until now, and I'm not sure if that's HLJ charging Americans more due to possible tariffs or what. With shipping there's almost no point in ordering from Japan at that price point.

I usually don't pre-order, but when it's a figure I think will sell out VERY fast I do. I'm not expecting that Iceman to be available for long.
