My hypothetical McFarlane Multiverse continuation.

That’s Bob Kane’s Batman. Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson’s Batman is more the character we know.
 
I have no problem with McFarlane continuing with the DC license in some way, shape or form. It will make a lot of collectors that enjoy the line happy and certainly won’t hurt anyone who doesn’t enjoy the line, so why not?

My hope would be that if McFarlane does continue with the DC license, they’re able to resolve the budget constraints that have ruined countless figures, at least for me. I’m not asking for 100% original sculpts, but the lack of effort put into figures like the Goldem Age Hourman, one of my all time favorite DC characters, makes it hard for me to appreciate and enjoy the line as a whole.

Usually “Cheery Picking” a line means passing on characters I’m not all that interested in. With McFarlane, it means passing on characters that I love.
 
I’m with you on Hourman. Not a complete miss, much better in hand, but could’ve been so much better overall. He was not well served by the drive for reuse. Quite honestly, I was prepared for Rick Tyler in the Infinity Inc. costume from the 80’s that Todd actually designed. Meanwhile Dr. Fate was nearly perfect. GA Wonder Woman looks great, and Sandman, while not traditional, still looks amazing.

Yeah, the last McFarlane figure I picked up was Hawkgirl (Kendra), and in my eyes, she’s near flawless. When I start paring down my McFarlane collection next year to just the figures that I’m truly happy with, regardless of character choice, I should be left with an eclectic, but satisfying sampling of the DCU in figure form. If McFarlane is able to continue in some way, shape or form, I’m sure I will still pick up the odd figure here and there.
 
My approach is a little different. I’m gonna “world build” for as long as possible. See where I’m at when it ends, and go from there. A minor or even a major cull could follow. Then again, I might just sit on the hoard for a bit. If Todd does continue in some way, it’ll have to be 7” scale for me to keep going.

Most people seem to think that he’ll continue doing statues, busts, and props. Things that Mattel can’t really scale for production.
