NECA Mirage Comics line

I found Leatherhead and Ronin Casey with bike today. I think I'vr seen all Haulathon stuff at least once except Mirage April for some reason.

I think that is the first I've heard of someone finding Mirage Leatherhead in stores? Mirage April is the only Haulathon item I've only seen once in stores aside from Pee-Wee. Everything else this time seems to be fairly plentiful.

The original Mirage April is such a PoS figure. It had 45º hips, but no thigh cuts. That's amateur hour articulation. The sculpt and paint were ok, scale was off. She was very small. But that articulation in the hips was a deal breaker. I speak in past tense as if I purged her, but no, she's still in my collection, but I'll never look at her again now that I have the new April.

She was, but I feel like for a Neca figure from that time period she was a bit better than some of the rest, especially when you compare her to their original Pamela Voorhees. I don't know what years each of them were released but Pamela was terrible.

Ah, hell, my neurotic collector is kicking in. I think I'm just going to pay an extra 4-5 bucks on eBay for a Mikey from a seller who took pictures themselves of their own figure in hand so I know I'm getting the right one. I don't want to chance my arm on even a trusted source like BBTS if there's weird packaging mixups going on... I hate dealing with returns.

Upside: I got Casey and Renet (who is one of those random side characters I love) for about ten bucks each. I don't mind paying full price for a few figures if I can get deals on others. GOtta find a Mirage April and Splinter and I'll be happy. Any recs on your favorite versions of those? The haulathon Aprl seems to be the best of the pack. (I do have the single-pack movie April if I want to mess with multiverse displays.)

Blue or red Renet? I have the red but really prefer the blue but Renet isn't a character I care enough about to buy a second one. Just wish I had found the blue first but I think it was only sold through that Auto T NFT type bullshit?

Red Renet - I was doing a bit of poking around and found a seller offloading red Renet and Mirage Casey for 20 bucks total and was... how do I not? I prefer blue as well and have had her in and out of my cart on BBTS every time she's marked down, but like you I only really need the one. I honestly bought her because my thought was I'd not get tied up in getting matching themed turtles (Old Man Raph, Hunter Leo, maybe Ronin Mike?) and have Renet in there for the whole multiverse thing she leans into, but my poor impulse control seeing the RtNY ones last night threw that for a loop.

Red Renet - I was doing a bit of poking around and found a seller offloading red Renet and Mirage Casey for 20 bucks total and was... how do I not? I prefer blue as well and have had her in and out of my cart on BBTS every time she's marked down, but like you I only really need the one. Looks like the Mirage Splinter with the four baby turtles might be the best fit for the new Mirage core turtles... any chance I'm missing a different model? I think I'll have to get the Haulathon April. Haven't seen her in stores but easy enough to get online in a pinch.

I think that is the only Mirage Splinter they have released so far.

I just opened the gangsters right before checking this thread and they are really fun. I need to research the story behind this because it looks like they are all set up for a big heist and I'm trying to wrap my mind around the Turtles turning to crime.

I need to try to find some of the old Mirage issues where the turtles got thrown rapid fire through time. The pirate and caveman turtles from those issues were a hoot and I'd buy them in a heartbeat the same way these "dealing with PTSD in Massachusetts" turtles are really catching my attention.

Thanks for the Splinter info. When I thought I'd limit myself to different timelines I was going to pick up the Van Helsing Splinter but I think I like the old school Mirage one better.

There are definitely different art styles for Splinter in the Mirage comics, but so far just the one figure. I like the Lawson version too, which is the same artist as the newer figures are based on:

And incidentally, that dream rat demon there is another figure I've long wanted them to do in this line.

Someone who has bought the singles may be able to confirm, but I thought I heard that Mikey and Raph got switched at the factory. Mikey is supposed to have the smile while Raph gets the grimace, but they got flipped somehow and it's probably because they are basically the exact same figure. You may want to hang onto it until you get a Michelangelo. NECA's own listing seems to back this up. He's in-stock, but they charge 10 bucks for shipping so you would probably want to add more to your order:

I got them single and Mikey and Raph had the correct heads. This was two months back in Canada, so maybe there's a batch issue.

I ended up buying a Mikey from an eBay seller who took a pic of their copy - whichever sculpt is supposed to be Raph or Mike, I was able to confirm that they were selling the one I DIDN'T get from Target, and since I'm tossing the packaging anyway, I picked that one up. Same price as would've been at Target or from NECA anyway and since NECA's sold out on 2/4 turtles, why not. I'll have to decided who is who once I have the figures in hand. (Watch, it'll turn out they both have Raph's belt or something.
