The execution is infuriating, and the "solutions" are also infuriating given the price point.
I seemed to get BD Spidey first and posed this question and it seems it is indeed that way with all of this particular figure. I saw an actual interview a fan had with Dwight at NYCC about what figures he felt didn't pan out like they had planned. He basically stated that he allowed engineering folks to tinker with new concepts and methods and try them out on a figure and see how it works. He then mentioned how the face printing technology turned out to be a win for them, while stating some other engineering flops, among them mentioning "the factory is sinking the ball pegs too deep into the torso so some figures utilizing this type of neck peg have little to no articulation at the neck" beyond just rotating the head side to side and slightly up and down. So it sounded like he was referencing what you and I have described.Does anybody’s Spidey’s neck peg actually tilt back and forth or side to side? Mine’s pretty tight in there so I boiled the thing and it improved to rotating, but doesn’t seem to otherwise go anywhere.
Kind of a bummer since the other 3 were really solid figures.
Glad to hear they're aware of and communicating about these sorts of mistakes. It's a little hard for me to figure out what the "new method" being tried here was, though. Do you happen to remember which interview this was?I seemed to get BD Spidey first and posed this question and it seems it is indeed that way with all of this particular figure. And I'm sure he's seem how many amputee Spidermen have been popping up on Reddit so hopefully these weird boxy hip pegs don't make a return after this.
