Ghostbusters General Thread

Thankfully I meant it in jest, but I did know a guy who literally sold blood and plasma (and was teetering on selling the other fluid as well but for the fact that he was a burnout and not likely to get many women lining up at the bank for his "deposit.") Apparently you get a bonus of a 100-200 bucks for milestone donations (like a sandwich card) and even more for bringing other people in. Like a time share...with hepatitis screening beforehand!

I'm not there yet, thankfully.
It's easy money for any reason, if you don't mind needles. I think you could only go in twice a week and I wanna say at the time the first round was like $50, and the second was $75? I dunno, it was years ago now. And they would often send offers in the mail to get you back where the money was more for the first week or two.

Apparently he's glow in the dark, available in limited quantities Halloween weekend. I wonder if he's an in stock sale.

I didn't get the two pack, might be tempted with this. But I am frustrated on behalf of people who did get the two pack.

No price mentioned, either. Nor, unfortunately, were there any other RGB reveals.

I genuinely think they should literally offer the new ghosts separately ONLY to the folks who already have Samhain. At these prices and with this kind of move, it's just too shitty not to try and do right by them.

I wonder if the little ghosts are also a glow-in-the-dark deco? If so, that would tell me they're likely to show up in other places with a more traditional paint job.

Also acceptable. But it's really sticking in my craw that they're doing this. Some of us paid double and got Samhain the first time, meanwhile the folks that skipped him not only get another chance, got the mini ghost from the single pack, and now ALSO get two more ghosts? Real bad deal, to me. Really hope they've got a plan to release these in another way. Maybe a ghost pack down the line or something.

I suppose. Did they share a price? He might be more than the $101 originally. They seem pretty receptive to feedback so if enough people want these things I would expect them to be made available again in some fashion.

The X-Men animated dolls/figures now typically come with an "Uncanny" variant that follows the other line up with more comicbook inspired paint and appearances. Once that started happening I came to the conclusion any Mondo figures I owned would never be massively appreciating in price. They're owned by Funko afterall, not known to let any license go without milking it for every cent possible.

It's similar to that, I guess, but it's also different in that anyone could've just skipped the exclusive offering entirely and then eventually gotten everything anyways. It kinda feels like those of us who supported the full line in good faith are being punished a little. Re-offered with new deco? Fine by me. Re-offered with entirely new characters/antagonists? Much less so. That's what we thoguht we were exclusively buying into in the first place.

Understandable, but again, it's Funko, if you don't buy it it'll all just go to a landfill quite literally. I think during the panel one of the designers literally said something to the effect of "if the Ghostbusters sell lower the line ends," which likely has a lot to do with what they have to charge to keep it going. Gimmicks and reissues with different paint using much of the same molds may be how they're trying to extend the line further. I don't imagine too many people jumped at the opportunity to spend $808 + tax + tariffs for the 4 Busters and their ghosts, I even talked myself out of Samhain's 2pk and just went with Peter. Much of this may just be to keep the line floating rather than having to turn to whatever their corporate masters say is more profitable. I know I'm not in need of an 18 inch plastic statue of Godzilla modeled on Aztec art that happens to glow in the dark though.
