General Marvel Legends

I really want to be able to fill out a post Giant-Size/pre-Outback shelf. That was one of my favorite eras. We have most of the looks now but still lack a Rogue from then, yellow bodysuit Rachel (which will be an easy enough custom once her Excalibur version releases), and Kitty needs a darker, more punk look of the Shadowcat costume.

I'm still wanting the Rogue from around the Mutant Massacre era. That look with the black bodysuit and green top with studded belts.

Saw Weapon X Wolvie in Target. They had a slew of him. I left him. While the pinless limbs are better, no paint on the helmet and electronic gear on his waist when the original did is a big step the wrong way.

There seems to be paint on both the helmet and gear... more than the original release...

Does anybody else here go through this? I had not bought any Legends for quite awhile even though there are plenty I still wanted. I want all the Mini Comic figures so far that they have shown or released but only grabbed Rom and have wanted X-Factor Cyclops and Jean, etc. but just haven't pulled the trigger on any. Just kind of MEH. Still love Legends but putting money towards other figures lately. I get Maximum Spidey and Gamerverse Cap and Venom this past weekend at a toy show and love them so much that now all I can think about is I need to get caught up with what I haven't bought but want!

I was talking about the grey (metal) parts, not the yellow, red, etc. The grey on the new just looks like plastic. The original is painted.

I’ve had the same hesitation to pull the trigger on new purchases, but unlike you, I haven’t found that “Wow” item yet that’s making me want to jump back in.

For all of McFarlane’s faults (and there are many), he can throw a figure out there like Stephane Brown from Batgirls and get me all wound up again. To use an analogy, it’s like McFarlane is playing singles from Simple Mind’s entire catalogue while Marvel Legends keeps playing “Don’t You Forget About Me” over and over again.

Kinda. Generally speaking, I don't/didn't do Legends figures at all. A couple of years back I caved on Spiral and Longshot because I knew there's no chance of Medicom or Bandai doing them in my lifetime and that era of X-Men is very much my jam. Then they did Apocalypse, and the Hellfire Club set so I had to get those two but that was it, the line was drawn.

Then last year to make up for a shipping balls up, Hasbro offered me something to make up for it and of the options, I went for the Destiny/Rogue 2 pack because again, ain't no one else ever doing Destiny. But now I have Destiny, I kinda have to get Mystique too? So she's arriving this week. And when the comic Banshee came up, again, I couldn't pass it up, I love me some All New, All Different. Plus someone on eBay was selling Jason/Mastermind for a fair price, so I got him to finish the Hellfire Club crew. But that really is it, right? RIGHT?

No because then they go and announce Rachel, damn it. Plus if I have Mystique, Destiny, and Spiral, that's practically half of Freedom Force, right? So today when Blob popped up on Amazon, I nabbed one. Which means I have to go hunting for Avalanche now, and hope Pyro gets a re-release some day.

It's a slippery frickin' slope, damn it.

(I'm also debating the Magik re-release but ugh, pins)

I was just able to order Punisher and Daredevil and use the Target sale to get $10 off. Nice.

I'm still on the fence about Storm. I don't doubt she's a good figure (well........I do have my doubts about the cape), just not sure I want to commit to the Outback era. I do like that era, but I've completed the Cockrum/Byrne era and the Jim Lee era.......do I call it good for X-Men now? I could technically chase down these various eras of X-men until the end of time. When is enough enough?
Did you ever read it? Did you like it?

Many of the Magik rereleases are severely wall-eyed, moreso than the originals. I bought 2 thinking I'd get a decent one. Nope!

As for the prices, Hasbro probably just thinks "well they wont be able to complain about the Maximum line when everything else is $30 per figure!"

I received the "pre-order processing soon" for Strong Guy today from BBTS along with the one for Maximum Deadpool a few days ago.

I've got a pretty sizable Pile of Loot accumulated at this point, but now I need to wait on these 2 to ship.

I've read all of Chris Claremont's Uncanny X-men run, I love the whole package.

I also really enjoyed Whedon's Astonishing X-Men but I have not collected that era in action figure form either. I just need to have a cut off but of all the lines out there, X-Men and GI Joe are the two hardest to solidify where that cut off should be.
