Jada Toys Scooby Doo

I would love to see Shaggy in his red shirt, maybe with Dracula from Reluctant Werewolf in the wave too. That was honestly a great design for Dracula and a movie I saw a ton with my brother. I also absolutely loved the Brothers Boo movie as a kid!

Yeah, Reluctant Werewolf, Boo Brothers, and Ghoul School were the trilogy that got watched countless times by me and my bother as well. Never quite understood the Scrappy hate because I liked him just fine in all of those. I think Red shirt Shaggy is a great variant down the line, maybe pack in different Scrappys with him and Scoob or any related monsters?

Robo has a review of wave one up on YouTube. I think Scooby fans will be pretty happy with them.

So glad to see they turned out well. Been really looking forward to these guys for quite a while. Really hope there's life to the line, at least enough to get us the full Mystery Gang and a gaggle of ghoulies.

That would be my only concern if I was into this license. Slow walking the main gang could backfire if collectors are concerned about the line ending abruptly. At the very least, waves should be 2:1 in terms of the Scooby gang and the monsters.

I’m still surprised that wasn’t the case. Or have a Scooby variant in each wave. Not having Scooby in the first wave was a bold choice. Shaggy is up there but all the shows are called Scooby Doo! Curious if the Mystery Machine is a possibility. It’s so iconic on its own that I think they could sell enough to make it worthwhile.

Jada Toys really came out of nowhere to make some outstanding figures, eh? This keeps the excellent streak going after Street Fighter and the breakfast mascots.

They were good out of the block with Count Chockula and Frankenberry, (didn't get any of the universal monsters) but they have leaped 1000 fold from there and are currently my 2nd favorite toy manufacturer even though I don't care about most of their licenses.

Robo has some shots of Shaggy in the Mystery Machine from the Scoob! movie of a few years ago. A little undersized, but it didn’t look terrible to me.

Yeah, I saw that. Great review as usual. Gives me hope they can get a Jada one out now too. A lack of a movie tie-in could get some retailers to balk at a $100 vehicle though (just spitballing a price, could be more or less for all I know). I’m not familiar enough with Jada yet to know if they do ‘fan channel’ exclusives like Hasbro. I could see the Mystery Machine going either way since it is such an iconic vehicle.

I just really hope this line does well enough to complete the gang, a few Shaggy and Scooby variants sprinkled in, and a bunch of monsters. I’d just hate to end up with another mummy situation where the line ends before we complete the gang. But I’d love to see full line ups from things like the Boo Brothers, Reluctant Werewolf, Ghoul School, Zombie Island, etc. Vincent Van Ghoul would be cool too as would many of the celebrity guest stars.

I wonder if the license extends to other show versions (Mystery Inc.)of the characters, or other Scooby-verse (is that a thing) characters like Jabberjaw. Just think of how many versions of Velma there could be?

That’s a great question! Could be just the original run based off the monster selection of the first wave. Minor detail but Shaggy and the gang didn’t have whites around the pupils in the original series but lots of the box set artwork for various collections of those seasons usually have the more updated look with white eyes. Might be a negligible difference to the licensor but could open up some variants if they care to get that detailed.

Makes me curious if Scooby will be tan or dark brown now too.

I would assume it's a generic Scooby Doo license and it was Jada's choice to focus on the classic look. As long as no one else is doing one of the other versions, they could probably get approval from the licensor for such. Obviously, the movie looks are a different animal because they involve actor likeness rights.
