Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Skeletor is not a baby blue. He’s more of a periwinkle.
It's not black and white like that. Are we turning this back into the same Venom/Batman/Superman discussions from the last few pages? You make it sound like I can't possibly have a shelf full of Skeletors that aren't periwinkle. I'm saying I do have a shelf full of Skeletors, Fakers, and other blue MOTU goons that are closer to MvC Venom's color than the Gamerverse version is, and they look good.

They can go a few shades darker like they did, but it's like the War Machine thing, at a certain point it doesn't look enough like the source material and you're left wondering, "what's the point?"

PS: I'm ultimately going to reserve judgment until he's in hand because blue in particular is a hard color to photograph correctly. I'm reminded by my phone how much darker and vibrant blues look from the auto "correction".

Just received Rhodes/Rossovich. Not in a hurry to open, but they looks sweet in package, and I’m glad they actually delivered and didn’t cancel.

The idea of this legit has me cracking up

Now I’m picturing Kurt in a conversation like this:

Nightcrawler: “It’s very niiiice. I look like your Jane Fondle.”

Professor X: “Fonda, Kurt. Her name is Jane Fonda.”

Nightcrawler: “Oh Thank You for the correction Professor Javier.”

Professor X: “Ugh…..”

Gamerverse War Machine vs Omega Red

My most anticipated Marvel Legends Gamerverse set came in. Love it in person! These are two of my favorite characters to play in Marvel vs Capcom.

War Machine features a lot of new parts, including: new head and neck, new upper torso, new lower torso, new larger wider pauldrons, new gauntlets, and new belt. I wish he had larger arms as well, but those are reuse from the previous War Machines. The new parts look great and give Rhodey an intimidating look with the wider pauldrons. Love the new helmet. His single shoulder cannon is massive and has a new large blast effect. He also comes with a missile. The light metallic blueish silver looks very cool.

Omega Red has a new harness and new knee pads. The hair seems new as well? I only took out one of my Omega Red figures to compare. He also has nice pinless arms. Cool upgrade.

Really fun set!

Man I wish there was an intrepid customizer out there who could teach me how to add a secondary hinge joint for Rhodes’s right shoulder. I’d love to make this huy my new 616 War Machine but without the twin canons on his arms it’s a bit of a hard sell. I don’t even know if there is a housing for a joint hinge under the armor plating. And yes I’m aware that this armor is very stylized compared to his actual classic armor from the comics but I just prefer this look a whole not more.

He has an entirely new head. Looks oddly similar to the screaming one from that Wolverine 2-pack but it’s got an inlaid teeth/tongue and a much narrower mouth. The new harness, shoulder-pads, and kneepads are a lot closer to Jim Lee’s design than the last 2 releases. The overall finish and color balance is a lot better too, and the face printing really highlighted the features well.

I was surprised by the pinless arms, although mine has a bit of a gap on both arms where the new forearm armor gets a little too much separation. Too bad they didn’t manage pinless legs on him or War Machine since they’re otherwise all pinless.

War Machine's blue-ish legs look so wrong to me.
Heh. It’s one of my reservations about Lee’s Hush design: it’s arguable the best Batsuit ever, but he REALLY insisted on blue which really kills it, especially the pouch belt/big-black-bat logo design.
This is a good take. I've come around on the Hush batsuit, which is somewhat crazy considering I don't really like Lee's art in that book.

I'm not trying to yuck anyone's yum here, but how do you explain the giant white spider symbol if you're gonna use blue Venom as a different Symbiote? I am just curious. Also, Envy is a good name, although green would be a better color for that one. It may also be taken.

I didn't buy the WM/OR set cause I don't like the War Machine, almost at all. He's too blue (ha), and he only has one shoulder gun. Plus no Rhodey head. If the old one is using the same legs and just has better colors and more weapons, and Rhodey head, I'd rather track that one down. And I'm fine with the Omega Red I have. I prefer the silver to the white on his boots.

Thanks for pointing out that Omega Red has an entirely new head! I could tell the hair was different. Should have been a clear indication.

There's a billion spider-people out in the multiverse who surely have their own symbiote adventures. Maybe this guy was bonded to Web-Man or something.

They talk about it a few times in the comics over the years (starting not long after his introduction), and eventually artists started drawing it so it's evident, but he's supposed to be covered in a fine velvety fur.

Chris Claremont had various members of the X-Men using "fuzzy-elf" as his nickname for many years. Here's an example below of Kitty calling him that. The version of Kurt below is being controlled by Belasco in his realm after he stole Illyana Rasputin who becomes Magik during this story.
