There are MCU shows that suck but not every single element of them sucks. I don’t see these things in black and white. It’s why I said above usually like them more the 2nd go round bc I already know my usually minor quibbles and just see the bigger structure.
Yeah, I find I'm the same way with a lot of things. Something I enjoyed some of, then try a second time I will sometimes enjoy more because I can see it for what it is and not what I was expecting it to be.
That said Secret Invasion sucked but even that had good bits with Ben Mendelsohn and Olivia Coleman even if it didn’t add up at the end.
I can agree. My favorite scene from the episodes I did watch was Mendelsohn and Jackson having a conversation in a train car. It was interesting, well written, and definitely well performed. Almost everything else I saw on that show was lacking at least one of those things.
SheHulk is the 3rd best McU tv show after Loki and WandaVision. The babies crying that the Incels were the villains have never read a SheHulk comic in their lives. That is so often her primary villai .
Heh... damn, I'd actually rank it higher than WandaVision. WandaVision was great, and I can even overlook the CGfest at the end because the rest of the show earned a lot of good will. But yeah, Loki and She-Hulk would be my top two shows I think. Daredevil is a close third and that's really mostly based on it just being Daredevil. F&WS, Hawkeye, Echo, and Ironheart weren't bad. Agatha was a lot of fun, and I thought Moon Knight had a lot of enjoyable stuff. I guess WandaVision was fifth for me because Iman Vellani has too much charm for me to rate Ms Marvel lower than it.
One of the supervisors at work is a big comic book fan. His parents owned a comic store so he literally grew up with comics. He told me he finally saw Fantastic Four and he hated it; felt they completely messed up Reed and he was nothing like the comic character. Then today another coworker told me she went to see it with her boyfriend and his friends or something, and they all hated it (while she thought it was great), but her boyfriend and his friends are all comic book fans. Apparently he said "I would have walked out if I could." But I wonder what was stopping him. Anyway, I've read comics with Reed in them but not FF very much at all, so I probably don't have a great read on Reed. Or maybe they did change him and that's why it works on film? I honestly don't know, but I also know my supervisor a work looked more forward to the youtube videos hating on Andor than the actual episodes of Andor itself, so I tend to think at least he was poised to hate anyway. I don't know and I don't get it. but when I'm spending THAT much money to go to the theater with my wife and three kids and getting the popcorn and the icees and all that shit, I'm gonna MAKE myself enjoy the damned movie goddamnit! heh.
