Does anyone happen to have a picture of the Avengers Assembled Captain America next to the Endgame Cap vs Cap figure? Any recommendations on which is better?

I've had a powerful itch for figures from the first movie for a while and I'm tired of waiting for Hasbro to do updates. I've watched tons of reviews for each but I've seen none that compare the two.

This looks great. Hopefully it’s easy to order. I know with some of the MCU Figuarts, some of them are web exclusives (or whatever they’re called) and only go up for sale on Japanese sites during what is the middle of the night for EST.

Bandai has been over engineering their figures for the past few years. I dunno why. I can't imagine that gives you really any more useful articulation. It's almost like it's just for an aesthetic they like. Like they like the extra cuts, as if it means it's more premium or something.

That said, I still like this figure. I'll probably pass on him, though I'm very excited to see the rest of their lineup. Even if they don't 1:1 completely with MAFEX, I could probably make a few fit. Really I just want more imports in on the Marvel/DC game because MAFEX is taking forever.

Almost no chance of that.

Am I the only one who thinks Cyke looks meh? I've never gotten over the crotch covers. They draw your eye and look worse than almost any alternative.

Now they're doing the same with the ankles for some reason.
He looks cool from the waist up

I find the way they cut the briefs very distracting.

I don't know. SHF has kind of backslid for me in terms of quality and execution on most of my recent pickups. Doesn't help that so many characters that are popular these days actually have the most unaction figureable designs. Looking at Yor and Momo.

And yeah, figure words scales things smaller, and I generally don't even think Mafex scales with Legends. No chance here.

But it is X-Men. I'm going to need to see some pipeline.

I’m happy to see another challenger enter the game. I think it has a real shot to be the best Jim Lee Cyke that’s ever been released. The crotch is pretty cut-up, but if it provides plus range going forward and back as well as out to the side I’ll take that trade-off any day of the week. I hated how they started sculpting butt cheeks onto their Dragon Ball figures and took away from the ability of the leg to go back. I like the overall aesthetic and it makes me interested to see what else they have in store. Price is a factor too, but with the Hasbro two-pack approach there’s an opportunity for Bandai to steal some sales. If they drop a Wolverine before the Hasbro two-pack ships that could get people like me who don’t care about Silver Samurai to dump their preorder for a solo release, even if it’s more money. Provided the figure is good, of course. I’m definitely interested in seeing such as Bandai has knocked it out of the park in the past with bulky characters. I didn’t give a shit about Jiren from Dragon Ball Super, but the figure turned out so well that I ended up grabbing him. Just the mass of his chest and torso is something you really don’t get out of Hasbro unless it’s some oversized deluxe release like Hulk or Juggernaut.

I do agree that Bandai has been guilty of over engineering on some of their recent output. They’ve also embarked on a less is more approach with Dragon Ball of late that incorporates single-jointed knees and overlays. I’ll be interested in seeing their approach to other figures in this line.

Also curious if Bandai has the Capcom side covered as well. They could really open up their customer base if they can do figures like Strider or Captain Commando.

Agreed. I like Figuarts (especially for Toku characters), but I typically stay away from any Spidey-related Figuarts because of this. Just a mess.

I’ve been avoiding a host of SHF figures of late precisely because I can’t stand that ridiculous crotch and thigh swivel engineering. I much prefer the seamless thigh swivel most Medicom figures use, I’d rather have slightly less articulation than those ugly, distracting thigh cuts. Even then, if a figure was otherwise great I might have overlooked it but the over-engineered crotch stuff is just absurd, I can’t imagine anyone thinking that’s the best way of doing it.

I collect figuarts DBZ and I love them for the most part, but this doesn't really look like it will be worth 3x the price of a legends figure. If these gamerverse figures are doing well enough for Hasbro I imagine we'll see them release a Cyclops.

That being said, it does look like a solid figure and I'm sure it will be fun to pose. That's the best thing about figuarts to me. The joints are so smooth.

Hips don't look great, though. They had the option to hide the cut in the straps like ML but they didn't.

For as good as a lot of their figures are, they do struggle with thigh swivels for some reason. I hate how they did them on Future Trunks, which they have since carried over to other figures. Here I’m left wondering why they didn’t incorporate it closer to the trunks.

The paint looks great. I thought it was too metallic at first, but it seems to have been a trick of the light. The figure has nice shading.

I think I'm mostly out here because of the scale and crotch engineering, but they could definitely get me with a good Wolverine. I don't mind if he's even more pint-sized than usual.

Is there any other hobby where the term crotch engineering is discussed like it is with toys?
