S.H. Figuarts Marvel Figures

I honestly don't see much Capcom in him at all. He just looks like a good Wolverine. If anything, the proportions remind me of his appearance in the Spider-Man cartoon, minus the odd color palette that show went with.

That's gorgeous. I'm good with the MAFEX or Figuarts (who can remember tbh) brown costume Wolverine but if I didn't have it, I'd pre-order this for sure.

It's fine for me in action. But that's my kind of displaying.
I think it's better on Cyclops and Wolverine because of the trunks.

I'm with you on the dynamic poses. I'm keeping my pre-order in hopes that these articulate well. If they do, I won't ever see the hideous crotch pieces.

I do think Spidey looks the worst in the legs and groin. Not sure if it's the costume or proportions. Maybe the trunks make the difference? Haven't sat with it.

Hopefully I just do the crouch or his MvC stance and it's hidden.

Spidey seems to more dramatically taper-in which may be drawing more attention to that whole area. I have him preordered, but it’s kind of tenuous. I need to see how well he turned out to commit fully. I think we’ll be able to “pose it away,” but SHF doesn’t always have great range there which is probably why those thigh swivels are in such a low spot.

Mr Lee has some nice looks at Cyclops on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/mrleeee/?hl=en). I don't have Instagram, but I found a YouTube video that basically just recorded it:

He looks pretty good. They included a pair of alternate necks which is different. I'm assuming they're sculpted for different angles so he can look up and down in a more dramatic fashion. I guess if you can't figure out how to just make the head and neck have better range, that's one way to do it. The alternate necks might give allow his head to sit higher too as there is a comparison image on Mr. Lee's page that I can see showing him with the MAFEX and X-Men 97 Cyclops and he looks a bit squat. The almost metallic finish he has is the one thing I'm not super keen on. It doesn't really present that way in most of the promo shots so maybe it's the lighting. Love the effect parts and I'm definitely keeping this preorder.

I’ve been thinking about this for a little while and I’ve come to the conclusions that the upcoming Gamerverse Wolverine from S.H. Figuarts is indeed a capcom styled Wolverine. Unfortunately it fits in more with the X-MEN: Mutant Apocalypse game on the Super Nintendo than the more traditional Capcom style that I think most collectors are familiar with. I’d even put cyclops into that category as well. But only just since he seems to come with the back drop that incorporates his mega optic blast hyper combo special move

The crotch bothers me far less than the thigh swivels. They seem so unnecessary.

These display images of Wolverine seem to imply he has individual stripes on the sides of his torso. If so, I don't like that.

I honestly don't know if I would have been able to tell you that the stripes on his side aren't actually separate in a lot of designs. I guess the Mafex version has them separate, but most MLs seem to have them connected?

Depending on the amount of artistic license, some portrayals of wolvie included either separated stripes or contiguous designs across the obliques. I think it was Todd McFarlane who introduced the separated stripes in “Perceptions” (Spider-Man vol. 1 #6-11) and then from then on it just became one of the tell tale looks in the 90’s for the tigerstripe suit.

On all of the figures I have they're connected. I feel like there was a Toy Biz one that had the separate stripes, but I couldn't hazard a guess as to which one. I just think I had at least one Wolverine that did that and I didn't like it.
