Star Wars Retro Collection

I have to say, though, that even nostalgia can't save those first wave figures with all the muscles. I tried to overlook it for a long time, but when they started making leaner Lukes and Hans, those muscle figures were sent away quick.

The He Man Luke actually has some charm for me because it was part of my first exposure to the franchise. I was born in ‘85, so just missed the original run. It wasn’t until they released the movies on VHS in I think 1995 and started marketing with like the Froot Loops Stormtrooper Han, Doritos lenticular disks, and the Super Nintendo games that I became really aware of it. And then boom, Kenner had that first few waves and vehicles for POTF2 that were pretty prominent at TRU at the time. Kind of incredible to have such a push for a franchise that was last had a release a dozen years before.

Are there any stands people recommended for the retro collection figures? I can’t keep this things standing up. One falls and brings the entire shelf down with it.

I don't have any Retro collection figures besides Mon Mothma who stands fine on her own. I do have these stands for my vintage Kenner figures and they work well.

I am getting my second Retro collection figure in the mail soon, Yak Face. He and Mothma were the only two I wanted form that ROTJ set and I got them both on eBay for a price I was happy with. I don't plan to ever have an original Yak Face and he is one of my favorite Jabba denizens so he will be a welcome addition.
