Star Wars Retro Collection

Well, the set wound up hitting retail hard, and in some places has gone on sale. I picked up an extra set just to have another of each army builder, but also for some head swaps. Gonna make a Luke Stormtrooper, gonna swap Ponda Baba parts onto that Yavin Luke body. It's still not accurate, but closer to what Ponda Baba actually wears.

I keep wondering if the retro style Acolyte set will go on sale at some point given that the show didn't set the world on fire. I don't love the retro stuff enough to pay 60-70 bucks for the set but I'd pick it up for 40.

I've actually been revisiting a lot of my original collections lately, as I've mentioned in other threads. MotU, GI Joe, repairing, restoring, replacing. Now I'm looking at my original Star Wars figures. I for some reason had an extra Chief Chirpa wearing a Wicket hood, but no extra Wicket. I fixed that by grabbing what I needed off eBay, so now I have two of each CC and WwW, none of which are complete since I don't have their staffs. I can't get too crazy with replacing weapons, those sometimes cost more than the figures. I am trying to restore the Max Rebo band though. I don't have the organ, or mics, or Droopy McCool's clarinet, or Sy Snootles' skirt!

I would really love a reissue of these things. Playmates has been straight up reissuing so many vintage figures and sets. I've been roped in on those, and would love Hasbro to do more like this with Star Wars. Though I still feel like they could update some figures to look more screen accurate, but retaining the vintage sculpt style. I'd be just as interested in those.
