Quitting/putting collecting on pause

Can you believe he went with pinned joints?

Having recently sold at a show I can say I went the easy/cheap route to move stuff I had little interest in sorting.

I sold a bag of Marvel Legends for $20 (6 figures) because I couldn't be bothered to try and sort them out and give a price. Why? Because they were mostly figures from "sets" like Dr. Strange without his portal, Wolverine without his motorcycle, a couple MCU figs (Talos, Agatha, Nick Fury) and Yelena Belova Black Widow (comic) whose legs were so warped I couldn't get them to straighten out. None of them were worth much alone and I got the parts/pieces I wanted from them so off they go.

Same thing with a bunch of 3.75" SW figures (mostly carded). I couldn't be bothered hoping to sell them off individually and just boxed them up for $20. Maybe the "best" items in the box were a TVC kid Ahsoka and a Mace Windu. After that it was mostly cheap ass Retro figs (Greef Karga, etc), and kid stuff from years ago (Rebels Thrawn, Maul/Second Sister, etc.). I just wanted them gone and the box probably had around 20 figures, mostly complete.

So yeah Alt probably has the best idea. If you just want to sell them, bag them all together and put a cheap price on them and be done with it. If you are looking for a bit more money expect to have to put in the extra work and not sell all of it by the end of the show.

Oh and if anyone wants a gander at me (and my oldest), a buddy of mine found a walkthrough video and told me I was in it. Here it is and my table (and me) starts at about 34:05 (for a couple seconds). I"M INTERNET FAMOUS BITCHES!!!!! How do I become the Robo of Articulated Thoughts??? Keep in mind I don't want to do any actual work, just get the fame and glory (of Toy Tubing internet fame that is.... 😜 )

Ha! I'm doing the same thing this week, I have tons of ziplocks with 4 McFarlane DC figures each for $20. No frills, just the figure. Each bag has 1 "big character" (Batman, Superman, WW, or Flash) and 3 "small" characters. Hoping the "big" gets people to look.

Ah, I love these videos. It's always fun to see what people are selling, I'm going to check it out!

After watching the video, you have my vote as AT's Robo.

You gotta grow the beard, though. No compromises.

Whoa whoa whoa... whoa.
Whoa.

I'M the only one around here that gets to be famous for doing nothing.

That feels like a call to action and I specifically just said I don't wanna do stuff.

Excuse me, but we here in Canada prefer our passive aggressive forms of violence. It allows us to maintain our facade of being "nice." Why do you think we say sorry so much? We don't actually mean it, we're just being passive-aggressive.

As for growing a beard. I refer back to my point about not wanting to do anything. Plus I hold Articulated Thoughts in such high esteem that I believe we are above being derivative of other Toy channels. I mean do we really need ANOTHER bearded, bald headed "white" guy as a talking head? Let's shake it up and go with a clean shaven, bald headed "white" guy as our spokesperson. That is so much more original..........

I dream of just dumping all my NECA Predators in a show like that, or at least in that short and relatively painless a manner. All of the nearly-identical accessories and their spindly nature make the thought of trying to eBay them just slide off my brain friction-free.

You guys sold me. I had a notification on my phone come up for a Brottar set for $149.99 and I jumped. I get several of these sent to me regularly after looking at them online and they're all over the place with pricing. This is the one I bought when I got the notification:

I'm considering trying this one also, listed under a different brand:

I have that first shelf saved in my lists. I went with a 6 shelf case to start, but that one will work for some of my Hot Toys & other few 1/6 scale figures I have, or for setting up some dio displays that are taller.

I also have couple of the other brands saved, because the idea is to get some corner book cases as well, over time.

Going through totes finding things to unload, I was actually a little surprised at how many NECA Predators I have. I suppose that's a sign I need to unload some because I was looking at them and some I didn't even recognize. I was all in on the Lost Tribe, which then branched out to others...and you're right, those accessories are a LOT.

I mean, if any of ya'll are looking to unload any of the AvP movie stuff, I'd happily take them off your hands. 😅 As not great as they were, I've got a lot of love and nostalgia for at least the first one, and the McFarlane figures for them (I can't even count how many times I poked or cut myself to the point of drawing blood on those sharp ass blades of theirs). I got into the line only somewhat recently, and sadly, I don't know if those AvP figures are ever getting re-releases. I'd try my luck at some of the knock-offs on Ali Express, but some seem to have much higher success rates than others.
