Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

Pfft. Whatareu, a nerd?

I took toy collecting and made it even nerdier!

Part of me is genuinely envious. I hope to one day be able to do that as well.
I was in that thread and crediting you giving me a hard time about forgetting I'd preordered stuff left and right a year or two back for why I keep better track now. I'm not a spreadsheet guy but I do have a better system and I've only lost one preorder this year, and it was because I forgot it was a "Walmart exclusive" and ended up shipping from BBTS before Walmart.

On topic though - I ended up ordering these through Pulse cos my day was crazy and I couldn't find them on the Amazon app so I just used Pulse. I think Amazon will ship sooner, but ordering through my phone while walking the dog in the rain was easier direct from Hasbro.

Went and checked my WalMart pre-order from a few weeks back just because I was curious, and it looks like it was for all the figures except Thing. Part of me is tempted to keep the pre-order, since it says coming July 1st, but I'm sure there's almost no way that date holds out.

I pre-ordered all 6. I may cancel depowered Johnny. I sort of would like an extra FF body to slap on a Krasinski head if I can get one that's close at some point, but I maybe will wait to see their Doomsday costumes first

I got my Lizard figure in today and he looks pretty damned good posed up on the shelf in a stalking pose. All the weirdness of the sculpt that was off-putting to me at first just kind of disappears with a good pose.

Now I want to assemble a "What If" MCU Sinister Six so I've ordered a nice soft goods cape from Scottacus Customs for Mysterio since the figure is so undynamic as is.

So I got my Thunderbolts* figures in from China today and they definitely deserve that *:

Preordered these from Walmart during the tariff craze and noticed they had an earlier ship date than everywhere else. I figured what the heck. Then I forgot about the order until they shipped 10 days or so ago and then they actually arrived on the date they said they would - June 1st.

I'm already in the process of getting my money back, but these are kinda brazenly hilarious. How is sculpting and painting four figures from scratch worth $100 minus whatever cut Walmart takes? And Yelena's body might be the most accurate yet and Sentry has lots of close-to-accurate sculpted detail.

Definitely Thunderbolts* :)

That would be funny if it wasn't so unfunny. I'm glad you can at least get your money back! If they put up a link for Ghost, don't order it, or they'll just send you an empty box and say she's in there (and I suppose they could be right).

They were listed with the real render images - and these figures are close approximations of those renders. No articulation and very heavy - they kinda feel like the lead figures Star Wars was doing for Disney Store. They would sink into a cake! :)

It is still super odd we've seen no hint of the packaging for these! I'm real curious which movie merch is going to hit first - FF or Tbolts. I'm guessing FF.

Good point about the packaging; hadn't thought of that. I think we'll definitely see FF first. Obviously the pre-order dates are placeholders and could change, but they're slated for July/August everywhere I look, and the packaging has been shown off, whereas Thunderbolts is listed for September-ish, with no packaging.

Wow, I didn't realize just how bad Thunderbolts did at the box office. I think that I saw that Lilo & Stitch had a bigger opening weekend than the entire Thunderbolts theatrical run? Yikes! I guess that I shouldn't be surprised since Bucky was likely the most recognizable character to the casual fan. I doubt that helps getting any additional figures released. I was thinking about this when I was replying to the One A Day Contessa thread.
