Ghostbusters General Thread

I'm not surprised they kept the price the same. They're already too high for a lot of folks, but I wouldn't be surprised if the free shipping is gone like it has been with the sixth scale stuff.

They put out a statement after they dropped the shipping charge on the first one saying that all releases in this line would have free shipping. If they add back the shipping charge without saying anything, that would not be a good look for them.

I wouldnt be surprised if there's still a tariff charge too
That sounds the most likely way to go. It lets us buy it now for the same price while it also lets them adjust it later if they need to since no one knows what the tariffs will be at that time. It’s crazy to think it’s $404 plus tax to get the four ghostbusters in this scale. It’s basically four times what it would cost if Hasbro or McFarlane were putting them out.

We'll see. They dropped it from their other lines without notice or comment so I don't expect Ghostbusters to be any different, but I would love to be wrong. At least if you're only interested in Winston he should be available with free shipping from other places and for the same price.

I am starting to think they must have a pretty hefty markup on this line to still offer free shipping and not have to adjust the price for tariffs. Except after the fact and putting the onus on collectors. I know the current belief is that the price is being dictated by Hasbro so as not to compete with other 6" RGB (or other scales) stuff they are doing. So maybe Mondo is doing these at a set cost and there is a big markup which gives them leeway on final pricing in regards to tariffs and shipping?

That has been my faint hope since the tariffs became a thing. Guess we'll find out tomorrow

I suspect that's it, canprime. I think we might get a better idea of the Hasbro price ceiling once they release the price of their 1/12 He-Man figures. But at the same time, they might try pushing the limit there, too, after the success of RGB.

It's exciting seeing the team being built slowly in the promo pics for each release. They'll look great, all together.

I'm also looking forward to SDCC reveals. An in hand Janine is a given. I'm hoping for an accessory pack with an alternative Slimer and some extra heads. Not totally sure how deep they could really go with this line, though, at $100 each.

Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do for a Stay Puft. I want something around a foot tall that I could push into the background of the display. Doesn't really need to be articulated, a rotocast would be fine. Looks like Diamond put out a coin bank that might do the trick...

I think it's just Mondo being Mondo.

Anyone collect anything else from them? I do prints, vinyl, and random stuff, and they thrive on the limited, FOMO model and boutique pricing. It's part of the brand and "fan experience".

I also suspect this is to test the waters for the MOTU pricing and what they can stretch it for.

I really am still leaning towards just Winston too. Sandman is basically a traffic cone with arm and neck articulation and is honestly a pretty silly looking design. At least Samhain was cool and creepy. For $50 he'd be a yes but double that? That's a hard pill to swallow after the awesomeness that was Boogieman.

The Playmobil Stay Puft is 11" tall and would probably fit into your display idea. I guess the question is can you find it somewhere for a reasonable price?

Did they make more than one? I've got one and I don't think he's nearly that tall.
