Just got Mainframe and Grim Viper and restrained myself for approximately seven and a half minutes before opening them.
Mainframe is ABSOLUTELY hobbit sized. I actually like the height variation but just think in the future they may want to vary - we need someone halfway between Tunnel Rat and like, Duke so the shorter guys don't look SO small. But I love that he's Captain Cybersecurity - his laptop actually gave me anxiety flashbacks to working for a penetration testing company.
(Yes, I sent penetration in the Joes thread, roll with it)
Grim Viper was the figure in this wave I could take or leave but holy hell in hand he's great. My first thought is: so most Cobra soldiers are disaffected idiots, right? Like, they get talked into joining Cobra cos they're mad at the world and it pays well. But this MFer joined Cobra to HURT people. He's got "spent time as a mercenary in a warzone killing civilians" level scary/mean vibes, and I say that as a compliment to him as a villain. He makes the SAW Viper look like a Build-a-Bear.

Agreed. And also a big, muscly lady body too. I did notice the CLAW pilot isn't the same height as the Valkyries though so that is nice.

I feel the exact same way pre-owning so this got me excited. He looks awesome and learning he is a big fucker added to it, so now I'm REALLY anticipating him.

And he’s definitely like “fuck your garish colors, I brought my own gear. I’ll take that Range Viper helmet, though. You casuals got any white spray paint around here? I gotta do a thing.”
He hangs out with Darklon. They make other Cobras extremely uncomfortable. Sgt. Slaughter’s not exactly excited about meeting Grim Viper hand-to-hand. Some really bad things happened to some Green Shirts in the jungle; Grim Viper came out of the bush with new notches on his ammo barrel. Snake-Eyes doesn’t like having a kill-list, but this guy is definitely on it. SHOOT. ON. SIGHT.

So I've been messing around with the Ghost Viper, and now I want every Cobra army builder in this color scheme. Ghost Trooper, Ghost Alley Viper, Ghost Night Creeper, Ghost Officer, Ghost Valkyrie, Ghost Technician, Ghost Cobra Coil (I liked those bikes), Ghost Zartan (brainwashed), Ghost Mindbender (high on his own supply) and Ghost Cobra Ninja. Yup.

I'm good with the one guy, but those are some stellar ideas. A grey-skinned Zartan would actually be really cool, kinda like his color-changing on the old figure. but it's funny how much some of us REALLY want repaints. I am hoping for Python Patrol of the Retro Viper already.

There is something about repaints that take me back to a kid that got knockoff toys that only came in three molds but 10 colors. I don't know why, but it makes me satisfied.

I am so into that. And more viper repaints. It would be cool if they used the retro body for all the viper repaints that hadn't done on the cobra island figure.

Ah damn, nice. Well, if they wanna kitbash Bludd with a new outfit, even better.
Haw. I remember catching only a minute of that entire version of the cartoon and it was a scene of Falcon on the drugs and I was like "whaaaaat is happening".
But yeah, Headman and Cesspool are characters I never had and am REALLY interested how they'll get translated into Classified. Also Headhunter Stormtrooper!

Already working on it. This figure just springs to life.
And I say this as someone who loves that rRange Vipers are just, by nature, scary to other Cobra soldiers. I love that there's this cult of psychopaths mixed in with regular troopers who are all clearly a bit tapped in the head and then THIS guy comes along and scares THEM.
