Opened up some snail shell stuff recently and have thoughts.
Overall, these are very nicely painted and sculpted figures, there’s an lot of subtle paint work that you don’t see on many other brands that can really make them look good… however they are also almost certainly the most delicate figures in my collection. The bodies not so much, but some of the accessories are so finely sculpted and delicate it feels almost certain that I would eventually break one messing around with it too much.
Individual thoughts:
- tactical maid: imo this is the best of the bunch. Figure is solid and the design is such that everything feels really nice, and I’m not too worried about messing around with it.
- Aileene: also a nice figure but a few things. Some of the hands are just comically oversized. Wish it had some accessories, and I doubt it can balance well on its feet.
- Annalise: I really like the figure but… the accessory pack feels really fragile. The connection points for the grenades are this hard rigid plastic that feel like it could easily snap, and the cord on the telephone hand set is so thin that you get the same feeling. And overall the arms and such just feel fragile.
- Lustia: this figure is kind of disappointing. I really like the design of it, but the skimpy outfit is 1) again just feels fragile 2) good luck arranging everything so it sits well, particularly the part that sits over her chest. It really gets caught up on any movement of her neck and hair and rides up or shifts to the side.
And that hair, is a really hard plastic and super pointy. Again just feels very breakable.
I’m not sure those are all complaints really, as I kind of expected it to some degree, but in hand they somehow feel even less durable than expected… even though I think overall they are nice looking figures
