X-Men '97

I may be interested in the figure if you still have her. I have one but she had fucked up paint on her outfit. I fixed it, but I couldn't get the shade right. So it doesn't look as good. I've been looking for another one (not hardcore), but I've had no success in my attempts. I wanted to see her paint to make sure I didn't get another crooked one before I ended up buying her again. But the lack of seeing any has me a little disconcerted.

I'll snap some photos here in a bit and send them over. From what I've seen/heard from a couple of my friends, the paint issues seem to be pretty widespread- lots of little specks, misalignments, etc. The one I opened for myself has a couple tiny ones- nothing major, but still noticeable.

Target app notified me that Rogue was in stock at my local, and I was able to get a pick up order in. I promptly swapped her green jacket and belt for the brown versions from the previous retro card Rogue. Swapped the head too for a nice fresh, pinless, comic Rogue.

Would you please share a pic, Norm? I'm curious how that looks altogether in case I want to do similar!

I was JUST thinking about swapping for a brown jacket, but I'm kind of OK with the dark green.

I've been trying out various head swaps between my comic X-Men and my 97 X-Men. I like the 97 Rogue a lot but she's missing the......pronounced......features of the Moonstone buck.

Are you referring to how each individual boob is sculpted separately? In case you haven't seen boobs in a skin tight shirt before, there aren't pockets for each boob. The fabric stretches across the boobs. The '97 Rogue torso sculpt makes way more sense. If you're referring to her backside, that's just as pronounced as ever. And these days, they seem to make leggings that accentuate those features in real life too. So that part could still be accurate in theory.

Huh. You know, as a gay man, I'm both mortified and grateful for the boob lesson. I didn't expect to learn about boobs when I woke up today, especially from an action figure forum, but lessons can be learned from the strangest of places.

Though now that you mention it, Norm, I feel like shirts with boob pockets (for both women and larger men) could be a million dollar idea. Wanna go into business together?

Thank you, because when Ballent was on Catwoman and then did than Wizard X-Women cover, even as a youth I was like, how does this outfit work? Does each boob go in a pocket? Is it sprayed on?

Thank you for also saying pockets for each boob.

Indeed it does, in real life.

Jim Lee, the aforementioned Jim Ballent, and just about every other 90s artist was oblivious to that, however. I appreciate the 90s accuracy.

I like the individual cup look too for this, uh, "rack size" let's just say. The fabric stretching looks too realistic. If we're stretching fabric, it should have those lines just about everywhere, and on both genders.

Then the retro card Rogue or Juggernaut wave Rogue would be your option.

It's an indiscriminate practice at least. Look at the definition in the pecks, the six-pack, the ribs, heck you even see veins popping through the outfits on some of the male characters, comic art and action figures alike. If you took Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime and put him in a spandex suit, you'd loose all that definition in real life. Both sexes are equally stylized.

I like those and the 97 Rogue, it's a toss up. Another wrinkle with me trying to trim down to ONE figure per character.

Lately I've kicked around the idea of keeping my 97 X-Men set and selling off the comic based versions. Their outfits are all essentially the same. Some (in the cases of Jean Grey and Storm) have better, sturdier sculpts. But I worry that that's just recentcey bias and I'll have insta-regret and just end up rebuying.

Just curious. My Target says Rogue is "Limited stock", but not available for pickup, delivery or shipping. Why not just show "Out of Stock"?

I don't know the answer to your question but my Target also said, "limited stock" which in my experience usually means it's gone, but I went there anyway and there was one left of the pegs.
