X-Men '97

I do think the animated styling is potentially in favor of a New Mutants reuse, especially in the torso. Those uniforms didn't have the typical form fitting superhero look and sat looser around the body. I can't get a great look at Morph, but it sorta looks like that's what he has going on.
Don't you do it. Don't you go giving me hope.

People are always trying to "look out" for Hasbro by eyeing re-use opportunities and in this case, you just did it by identifying blue-suit Cannonball as an option.

I don't get what the issue is with the word.
I just don't understand the use of "fair" here. I don't think anybody implied Morph shouldn't have gotten a bespoke figure, only that parts of them might work elsewhere. It just seemed an odd word choice and I was trying to figure out what it meant.

Like, of course I'm looking out for reuse opportunities. I said I was thinking that way. Is that a taboo I'm unaware of?

Sorry, I'm just puzzled. Sincerely. Not like trying to start an argument I'm just confused. Probably just the standard internet/text/no inflection thing tripping me up somewhere.

Right, exactly what I was thinking. Those costumes were usually drawn a little more naturalistically like fabric and this feels like it would work for that.

They did do a really good job of Morph. Love the layers they added to them. I wonder how much we'll actually get of the unrequited love plot with Wolverine.

I would definitely be down for most of that wave. Emma and Morph in particular are probably going to be really good.

TBF, the timing of it was probably the reason I went for it. Literally nothing else to spend money on since there was no going out, no travel, no nothing.
And then the rest of us didn't have money to pay our bills. I was getting $400 a month in unemployment (I'll give you a guess as to how many thousands of dollars a month my costs of living were lol). Sure, enough for the Sentinel, but I'm not stupid enough to spend bill money on toys.

Yeah, sorry, that wasn't meant as dismissive as it came off on my part. I was very fortunate to be in the position I was here I did get to keep my job.

I also wasn't trying to be defensive towards you, either. :)

I'm just forever salty against Hasbro for that bullshit, being a 30+ year X-Men fan (my second/third tattoos were Wolverine's claw sheathes on the backs of my hands).

I managed a not-so-ass-rapingly-expensive female Prime Sentinel. I'd like a male one, and Bastion has been my biggest 6" want from that whole fucking debacle, but to not even get a chance at the main event item just hurts so much.

I've thought about trying to get a Master Mold head (people have been selling them for less than the 6" figures since fulfillments were received), and just sticking it on the shelf next to my ToyBiz BAF.

I think that's part of the reason (other than just license to print money) they went for the slightly smaller sentinel in the Dragon Man model. Give folks who missed the first sentinel at least a shot at something similar.

Hopefully rumors are true for '97 Bastion as well so you'll get a shot at him too.

There's someone on Thingiverse who made head holding 3d print files for the sentinel that look really good (and can have lights installed). I've been wanting to take that and model the junk monster version of Master Mold who we saw in that brief period in X-Factor where MM's head got onto Muir Island and Cyclops had to fight it off. I think that was when MM and Nimrod eventually merged.

I was in this boat. I was unemployed for 20 months due to Covid! I was job searching the entire time, and eventually had to cash out my 401K to keep my house. Both the Sentinel and Galactus were offered during this time, and as much as I wanted them I just couldn't justify the money.

Hell, I'm STILL dealing with the fallout from that time period, as I had to put a lot of unexpected expenses on credit cards. The interest on those cards made the balances balloon far beyond what I actually put on them. I've had to cut back massively on figures, only getting pieces I REALLY want, or playing clearance chicken with certain releases. It sucks!

Speaking of the original New Mutants - hellooooo, X-Men '97 Sunspot! Didn't expect him in that outfit but I'm stoked.
