What is your most recent deal, or "steal" on toys?

Don't remember what the deal was but my X-men '97 Rogue pre-order was only 18 bucks

Yeah being in Ottawa I usually stick with DJC Collectibles because I can do local pick up and skip the shipping cost. However I find that TS does have some great deals from time to time. However I can give the little guys a bit of a break due to the fact they are independent operators.

EB Games though is getting crappier by the day it seems. No more free shipping at any price, $5 Fridays are apparently gone, though people are reporting seeing some individual items for $5 from time to time. Then, of course, rumours that the Edge program will end and who knows what will replace it. Whatever it is probably won't be as good.

I don't really do much collecting in the 4" scale anymore, but for such a cheap price I decided to see what the deal is with Hiya Toys' Joe figures. They look really good, but not sure they are worth the full retail price. Which I know is higher due to being imports from Asia. And of course $5 TVC figures are good fodder to have on hand if I don't have a place for them.
Last I heard since the buyout, Edge is continuing as normal. And my store still does $5 bins as recent as today, it's just never interesting.

But yeah, no free shipping sucks.

Same. I still see the bins every Friday. Not that there's anything worth buying in them. Employees still don't even know what's going on with Edge, but most seem to be of the understanding that it's continuing to function mostly the same - possibly with a new name or different perks or something. But it shouldn't be going away entirely. I don't think you can sign up right now, though. Nor are they seemingly asking for anyone to re-up if expired. It's just kind of frozen.
So if you had Edge before they decided to change it - you have Edge until it actually does change. If you didn't, or it was expired, you're kind of SOL for now.

I don't really hold it against them. But also, it IS a little weird to see them seemingly unplugged from reality. Like, are they just waiting until everyone else sells out and then you have no choice? Because I don't see anyone choosing to go pay more money for a toy they can more easily acquire in other places. Particularly not with how things are right now.
They gotta charge what they gotta charge. It's their business. But it doesn't seem like a good long term strategy to be the collectibles/toy store with the shittiest selection and worst prices.

Just my experience at the store:

It was limboed and "something is changing" for almost two years (at least since I paid attention). I spend so much I'm just eternally at Onyx, so it auto renewed off the points that still accrued.

When people sign up (at my store it sounds like that's still a metric they push), they don't have cards but you get the number online and it all seems to just run off the phone number at this point. I know this because I always end up in line behind someone who isn't sure if they have an account or want one. I had a counter convo just the other day where another collector had no Edge ever and was in awe of my discount and point total, and he was able to sign up on his phone, but as you say, he can't just buy his way up anymore. It's a point grind from Red. But they made it sound like you could hit Onyx.

Back in April or May they told me it wasn't changing at all after that whole limbo scene, but I am the god emperor of Onyx over there to my own disgust, so maybe it's just pretty privilege.

Been slowly filling in my backlog of wanted Hot Toys figures. For whatever reason, my love of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has been flaring up recently (not that it ever really went anywhere), and I managed to find the Sao Feng Hot Toys figure for $70. Granted, it's an almost 20 year old figure and had some wear and tear, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little glue. Usually goes for around 300 or more, depending. About a year ago, I was able to snag the Davy Jones knock-off figure (that's basically the same as the old Hot Toys); he can go for upwards of $500 or more, but I got him for $100. Think it was a case of the person not really knowing (or caring) what they had. I couldn't quite believe it; that was a grail figure of mine- Davy and crew are probably my favorite movie villain/monster designs.

it was a while ago but still the most recent for me. I found the deluxe version of Nottaa’s Wukong on yahoo Japan auctions for 60. It was mislabeled but complete with all the accessories and box.

My Walmart put the deluxe SW black series Kelnacca and IG 11/Grogu on sale for $5. Of course they did this the one week I didn't go in the store. So the pegs were completely empty. I rarely get these amazing deals I read about online in any of the stores around me, so I was bummed to miss this. However, a couple days ago I decided to check the shelf where they store all the over stock above the pegs. I saw what looked like a picture of a man-bun through the holes in the grating. I climbed up the shelving and flipped the package towards me. Someone had hidden a Kelnacca up there. Sweet! It was so satisfying to finally get a score like that.

That reminds me. Walmart Canada (online) is clearancing out the Force FX Elite Darth Revan Lightsaber. Picked one up for $89Cdn (after tax). Considering the Darth Revan Force FX Lightsaber goes for $300Cdn+ (regular retail price), getting it for sub-$100Cdn (after tax) is a pretty great deal.

This weekend I popped into a Walmart to compare prices on some work shoes with the local "outlet", which was actually far more expensive. Naturally, while I was there, I had to look at the toy and collector departments. Stumbled across a lone NECA Megan figure on clearance for $16! The box was beat to hell, but I open my figures so I didn't care. While I'm not a huge fan of that flick, I did find it entertaining, and I always like adding another figure to the horror display. This is a fun figure, so I feel it was $16 well spent!

I wasn't in love with the range troopers and their blink-and-you-miss-it scene in Andor so wasn't going to get any but I've found them on clearance at Target for half price (rare, for me) and I have three so far and just want one more.

So in store clearances are going on at some Walmart stores in Canada (doesn't seem to be universal yet).

Here is a quick list of some things I saw in store, saw reported online, and/or picked up (in no particular order):

Obviously in Canadian dollars.

Star Wars Epic Heroes: Darth Maul/Sabine Wren (deluxe versions of each?) $5 each and the N1 Starfighter for $15 ($17 and $50 normally) [Bought the N1]

ML MCU Spiderman (the reissue in the blue box) $20 ($36 normally)

TF Retro Gears and Bumblebee $20 ($36 normally)

TF Collab Mandalorian N1 Starfighter $40 ($77 normally) [bought]

Playmobil Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (normally around $90) [bought]

Large sized Rainbow Brite $20 (normally $25)

and what I swear was a purchase for my imaginary daughter and not for me...........Grumpy Bear plush (Care Bears) $5

My most recent deals were at Ollies I found the GI Joe Classifieds 60th Ann. Halo Jumper figure for $12 (instead of its usual $34.99). And then today on Amazon I got the Super Powers Batman Bundle with Batcopter, Batwing, and Batman all in black for $15 and some change (instead of its usual $49.99)

So, a couple good ones.

Excellent.

Yeah those Ollie's deals for the 60th figs is great. I know I have seen the Sniper up here on sale for $26 at an online etailer and thought that was a good deal, but $13US is still only about $17Cdn so an even better deal.

Went in to one of my local Walmarts today and they had a crap ton of toys on clearance. Too bad most of it was the garbage, non-action figure toys I don't collect.

However I did find on a shelf away from the clearance area two Marvel Legends Retro Spiderman card figures. Electro (female) and Kaine. Both were $12.50Cdn (normally $36Cdn). So for 66% off (approximately) I figured why not? Not really too interested in female Electro or Kaine but I probably can use them as trade fodder for something I do want. Or just keep them for an indeterminant amount of time until I probably forget I have them and surprise myself all over again when I "discover" I have them.
