What are your “Grails”?

Not exactly a grail, but an older figure that I've contemplated adding to my collection is Ultimate Spider-Woman, as she would go nicely with the Ultimate Spider-Man I got back when I first started my ML collection.

I have a few that I haven't been able to get at a price that I'm happy with. Last year's Shanna SDCC exclusive. I'm still rocking the version from over a decade ago until I can land the new one. There was a 2024 Marvel Universe subscription figure of Knight-Spider that I still want and haven't picked up. Otherwise I'd like to find figures that I sold a long time ago and miss: Man-Spider and Spider-Hulk from Toy Biz. I deeply regret selling those two. Another ToyBiz figure that I'd like to find is the Fantastic Four Classics Annihilus. I have the Hasbro BAF but I think that I actually prefer that rare Toy Biz one and have never owned that one.

Otherwise I have absolutely everything that I want that's ever been made by any of Hasbro, Toy Biz or Diamond.

I want that Shanna too. I also want Blastaar from another SDCC exclusive years ago, but at this point it's a pretty outdated figure. It would probably be better to just make my own custom. I kinda want Fin Fang Foom. I never jumped on the KO that was floating around. At this point a new FFF would likely cost more than I'm willing to pay.

I've tracked down most of what I wanted but there's a few lingering that still go for crazy money that I have switched over to hoping they re-do on modern bodies. SDCC Hela (comics) and Satana are the tops of my list, and Blastaar, but I feel like he's absolutely gotta be on the remake list. Annihilus is so dated he's not on a grail list anymore except as a hoped-for re-do.

Yeah... I have almost all the stuff... The one figure I wanted and never got is Blastaar from the SDCC set. Everything else from that set has been released at retail or replaced by a better version... but thats still the only Blastaar thats ever been made and I missed the Con that year and wasn't able to get the set..

So hoping sometime soon Legends decides to roll out a Blastaar - preferably in classic duds - so I can stop lamenting tje miss.

I'd like to get a couple of the old ToyBiz Doombots - not really a grail, but I think they could be fun flanking Doom on his throne, but not enough fun to pay what they go for.

For me, the grails are the figures they haven't actually made yet. Danny Ketch Ghost Rider was a grail for me for a very long time. I stopped being a fan of the ML..3?... version by probably as early as ML10. So pretty much ever since then I've wanted a new one and I was STOKED, and still am stoked, that it finally happened not long ago.

Shatterstar was another grail. I have it. I'm.. less than enthusiastic about how he turned out, but it's Shatterstar and I will keep him until/unless they make a better one. But a proper v2 Shatterstar is still a grail item for me. As is a Kylun. But if we go down that road, I guess every figure I still want them to make is a grail because I've pretty much cut my want list down to just the stuff I -REALLY- want.

The first Dragon Man and Pitt have always been at the top of my 6" list.

The Hasbro Dragon Man certainly took care of the Toy Biz want.

Another grail for me was always the Mego Romulan. Luckily, NewMego has made a few different Romulans. Quite pleased with them.

To be made:

Shatterstar 2
Uncanny Avengers Rogue
Modern ML Quality Hellcat
Modern MCU quality Elektra
MCU Karen Page

Don't really have any I just don't own. I don't find old toys charming and newer things, if I like it, I get it.

Nothing previously manufactured is a grail for me; only unmade figures would be considered as such:

-Warlock (classic Bronze Age all the way, Starlin-inspired , either the lightning bolt costume or the caped redesign, soul jewel on forehead and bare legs and arms
-Swordsman (Bronze Age)
-Mantis
-Valkyrie (BA, with or without Aragorn)
-a new, classic Wrecking Crew
