U.S. Politics

Right, I don't mean to have ingratitude. I would love if both put their heads down and ran at each other at full speed. Yes, have at it.

The question is: will Musk form his own Iron Grenadiers to compete with/fight with MAGA’s Cobra?
I’m not even actually kidding.

I both love this and think it's an insult to Destro. Musk wishes he was as functional a human being as a guy in a metal mask with a love of deep v shirts.

I know this is tinfoil hat stuff but hear me out:

Musk says that without him Dems would have won across the board.
A couple of months ago Trump was having an aneurysm on stage and muttered something like how he won because Musk went to all these states and he knows a lot about voting machines and all that stuff.

Are we ONE good reporter and some poking and prodding away from getting these guys to admit to election tampering?

The cynic in me wants to stay calmly angry that this is all a show to distract us and the two babies aren't really fighting, but they're both idiots and Musk has multiple times hinted at basically buying the election, and can't keep his mouth shut - I absolutely could see him being caught for election interference. But the cynical part of me is also like: even if he openly admitted it, showed us the technology, did a Youtube video walking us through the process, nobody on the government level would DO anything about it.

But man I'd love to see it happen. They're both so easily baited into saying whatever is on their minds.

Yeah, it's unlikely (if still possible) anything would come of it if we found Trump had cheated. But it WOULD change the political landscape. Everyone is operating on the idea right now that Trump really was just THAT popular. It changes a lot of things if we find out he cheated and rightfully lost. Dems can call him a cheating loser in every aspect of his life and drive him nuts, the former never-Trumper Repubs will probably start to abandon him as they see the writing on the wall and the potential consequences of a Dem presidential win when someone isn't rigging things in their favor. Even just the whole 'Trump has a mandate' thing evaporates because we know he didn't even actually win.

Not saying it magically fixes any problems. But it definitely would have a pretty stark and immediate impact.

The problem with election tampering is that we spent the last 4 years 'proving' that it couldn't happen. Almost like we got played the whole time...

I dunno. I think we spent the last 4 years proving it -didn't- happen. Not necessarily that it couldn't happen. And it's not like any Republican voter believes that anyway because they all -still- think the election was rigged against Trump. Hell, lots of them think THIS election was rigged against Trump and that actually like 80% of the country voted for him and he only 'beat the rigged election' because the machines couldn't lie hard enough to cover up the overwhelming support for the God King.

Man, who knew that that Tesla exploding in front of Trump Hotel was actually predicting the future?

I saw a post yesterday comparing Elon to a young Syndrome from The Incredibles after he gets rebuked by Mr. Incredible, and I feel like it's a very apt comparison. Elon was and is that big, tech-obsessed manchild who's just latching on to whoever has the most power in the room and looking to outdo them however he can. I'm sure he really did look up to Trump, but now that he's been spurned by him, it's like a messy breakup. Hell hath no fury like a nerd scorned, as we all know.

Don't get me wrong, I have no sympathy for the man. I think the election tampering is the worst kept secret- we all know they did it, but nothing could ever be done about it (at least before- maybe if he pulls a General Hux and becomes a spy). I don't even really care that he admitted Trump is on the Epstein list- again, the worst kept secret in the world. Not to mention, he knew he was on the list, but still supported him and brought his freakin' child around him? No sympathy whatsoever from me.

I would absolutely love it if they led to each other's downfall. There's something deliciously Shakespearean about trying to get one over on the world by surrounding yourself with the most egregiously powerful and rich people, only to spurn one of them and have them turn their power against you. It would truly be a "two birds with one stone" scenario.

Trump and Musk are fighting.
Of course this falling-out was inevitable. You can't fit two egos that size in the same space. There isn't enough oxygen in the Superdome for one, let alone both.
Prediction: Musk is going to lose this.
Yes, he's the richest man in the world and yes he controls one of the largest social media platforms in that world.
But he's going to lose anyway.
Trump is the president and the deity of a 70 million person strong cult of boot licking zealots who think he's the first coming of Jesus Christ. Trump controls everything that makes Musk Musk. Courts, taxes, regulations, contracts, etc, and Trump is a petty vindictive mean childish little man who never lets any slight go no matter how small.
Trump has repeatedly demonstrated his complete willingness to use and abuse the power of government against his personal enemies and he is pathologically incapable of not doing so. The man has absolutely no restraint or morals or integrity whatsoever. And there is no one to stop him, not the court, not Congress, not the voters.
Q.E.D.
So, how long until Musk is under investigation for whatever trumped up charge Pam Bondi and the Fox News Host of the FBI can come up with?
How long before Trump starts talking about nationalizing SpaceX and Starlink for "national security" purposes?
Or taxing and regulating and tariffing Musk out of business? Trump already hates EVs, right? All it would take was for the DOJ to suddenly decide to use existing Lemon Laws on that piece of shit Cybertruck.
Or tying Musk up in court just out of spite, something Trump is infamous for.
Or deciding that it's in America's best interest to shut down that huge media platform Musk owns. Remember, Trump sued 60 minutes for a standard interview with Kamala Harris, because he didn't like how it was edited. Imagine how goddamn mad he's going to be about the Musk Cult Techbros on X talking shit about him?
How long before Trump suddenly "discovers" that Musk "betrayed" the public (Trump's) trust and stole critical information from the government? He'll have plenty of support from Congress THEN, because even Republicans are afraid of what they'll lose when those massive DOGE cuts start impacting their constituents in red states. And they hated Musk right from the start, but were too afraid to say anything until now.
We might get lucky. Musk might have stolen information useful to us, Trump's tax returns, the unredacted Epstein files, the results of all those investigations, maybe Merrick Garland's balls frozen in liquid nitrogen and wrapped in the Mueller Report. Maybe he'll release those, but I doubt it, he's got way too much to lose -- rich people always do.
One thing is for certain: Elon Musk ISN'T your ally.
Yeah, Musk might get in shot or two, might drop a bombshell, but here's the thing, folks: what possible information could Musk have that would actually sink Trump?
Seriously.
Epstein Island? Stole an election? Rapist? Fraud? A convicted felon? Stupid? Ignorant? Uncouth? Functionally insane? I mean, TRUMP'S ALL OF THAT ALREADY AND AMERICA HAS KNOWN IT FOR YEARS. And none of that was a show stopper. None of that keep MAGAs from loving him. None of that was enough to get liberals to show up.
I wouldn't hold your breath on anything Musk reveals taking down Trump.
Ultimately I don't know if it'll be bad for Trump and worse for Musk, but however it shakes out, I do know it'll be bad for US.
You can always count on that.
