U.S. Politics

The Hague is not where I would hope Hegseth would wind up, I hope due process takes him and others to a far more final position.
I do doubt that America has the moral and intestinal fortitude for all that, though, or even to imprison these obvious criminals and traitors, so we’ll deal with the surviving members of this administration for a long time.
Oh I would totally send all of them there. If just in case another Trump-like Republican comes along trying to pardon them all he couldn't if they were in jail somewhere else. ICC is the place for war criminals. Besides they said Presidents can do anything now so vote for me!

... I forgot what we used to call the Coast Guard. ...
was it Coasties?

Kidnapping people from their homes now...

They have been randomly shooting & spraying pepper balls

Thanks for sharing, SDC. I would love for there to be more education out there about what the US Military does -beyond- the murder. Not that I ever, ever, ever want to give them a pass on the murder. But I'd like everyone, especially conservatives, to stop thinking of the military purely in terms of 'what can we blow up this week?'

was it Coasties?

Yep, Coasties was another nick name, but not as derogatory as Puddle Pirates. They REALLY hated being called that.

Okay, I looked it up. Men and women who serve in the Coast Guard are Coast Guardsmen/Coast Guardswomen. Or Coasties or Puddle Pirates if you want to piss them off and start a fight that ends with spending the night in the brig.

Men and women who serve in the Army are called Soldiers, as Damien said. Want to watch them turn different shades of red? Call them a Grunt.

Men and women who serve in the Marines are called ... well, Marines. They're also called Devil Dogs (They like that), Leathernecks (They like that too) and Jarheads (Don't call them that. That results in fisticuffs).

Men and women who serve in the Air Force are called Airmen/Airwomen. Zoomie and Airedale are words they hate.

And in the Navy we were called Sailors. Or Squids if you wanted to start some crap. Back in WW II we were called Swabbies because we were often seen mopping the deck.

Pretty sure that was more than any of you wanted to know.

My experience... I knew a guy who was on a submarine, called himself 'a bubblehead', and I knew a guy in the Air Force who referred to it as the Chair Force. I knew a guy in the army who called Marines "Crayon-eaters", and other more offensive terms. My uncle was in the Navy, but he was a doctor. An OBGYN to be exact, and he actually served in Desert Storm as a combat gynecologist.

Everyone is forgetting Space Force, which is a real actual fucking thing America made up because America is the worst country on earth. I believe they are called 'guardians.' Which is just... amazing in how fucking stupid it is.

Combat gynecolgist Braxton Hicks, Code Name: Ultrasound. "She can bring them into this world, so she can take them out too."
That's so weird because I just pitched my new life cleric tonight and she's a midwife who communes with the god of life and death in this campaign. So sometimes she brings life in and sometimes she does not heal the dying because she is told it's their time.

Man they really wanted to emulate that Patton opening didn't they
Apparently it was one of Reagan's favorites. Add it to the list of movies conservatives don't understand.
At least they're still being transparent about their moves and goals.
The great thing about Trump is that he's never had a thought that he didn't immediately repeat in front of a camera. The bad thing about Trump is that, despite this, we still couldn't stop him.

free speech only if it makes them look good
