The Maxwell thing is puzzling. None of his conspiracy-addled followers are going to buy that she's doing it of her own volition (and they shouldn't).
I agree with Gill. They will absolutely buy it because they -want- to believe it. And that's all that really matters to these people. It's why they believe literally everything in life that they believe. They just want to.The Maxwell thing is puzzling. I am. I'm ready. Religious people are pro-child rape. I said it and I'm not unsaying it.but we aren’t ready for that conversation yet.
Even as a young child I knew what rape was and that it was wrong. Something that, clearly, a huge percentage of adults are still struggling with.As a young child who never went to church formally, but did have a lot of Catholic friends and also read a TON of vampire books, I had Big Questions about religious stuff. I remember when someone finally explained to me, in detail, about how “Mary” got pregnant. This person tried to do it in that “kind adult explaining difficult subjects” way, but my immediate response was complete revulsion. “It was, like, a ghost? And it didn’t even ask? And she was a little kid??? OH no wonder all those church pictures are either totally bloody or else totally sanitized! These guys are CRAZY!”
