Yep. To them there's only two kinds of people: those who deserve power and who lie about valuing anything else to get what they want from the rubes, and the rubes who are obviously too stupid to ever get or hold power.
I'd be surprised if you aren't already hip to this one, but do you know about Dr. Jackson Crawford's channel? Old Norse specialist, mainly talks about language and translation but occassionally goes into myth and related topics. Has a very nice low-bullshit quotient from what I've watched.
I LOVE Crawford's content. In fact, I own most of his books as well. Easily one of the most approachable linguists on YouTube. Definitely the best in the Old Norse sphere. It's interesting, and sometimes sad, watching him walk the line between being faithful to the source material and trying not to OUTRIGHT tell fascists and racists to fuck off. He seems to take the opinion that all are welcome because he wants them to be educated (and he needs the money, no doubt). So he has an interestingly subtle way of being like 'so this racist shit you heard about the Vikings was actually total bullshit and has no basis in the sources.'
Agreed on all that but definitely this as well.
