And I will freely admit that I have an optimistic, idealistic viewpoint, where I think most people appreciate the rule of law and will hold those who refuse to uphold it in check.
And this may be where I have a hard time reconciling that no one is coming to save us. I get glimmers of hope. But then nothing ever fucking happens.
And I don't want to be made cynical. Not about this. I'm already cynical enough about life. The last thing I had was the idea of America being what was sold to us as. Hell, you're talking to the guy who cried at Granary Cemetary in Boston standing at the gravestone of our forefathers like Paul Revere.
Every single day, our politicians, fellow Americans, this fucking administration, shake my faith in that dream. That romanticized American dream.
Although it has inspired me in one aspect: I've begun the process of going back to get an associate's degree to be a paralegal specializing in political law--at the ripe ol' age of 43.
