One of my neighbours works at the post office in the local Shoppers Drug Mart, so not an actual Canada Post employee. However he does interact with them daily and he says to a person they are all pissed off at their union. He says they all know what is going on with both Canada Post ( I mean they did lose $400 million in quarter 2) and the current climate around shipping, especially to the US. They know if things don't change they'll be out of work;. They feel the union heads are being stubborn and just expecting the rank & file to follow along with whatever they say. Even if it takes them off a cliff and into unemployment.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sire this dovetails nicely with the plan started by DeJoy to destroy the USPS. The current postmaster General, Steiner, is a board member of FedEx... so he gets more money if people use FedEx instead of the USPS

I was looking at something on eBay that ships from China, eBay had a note on it that said what I paid would be the final price and that I wouldn't have to pay anything more after it ships.
Can anyone tell me if that's legit? Browsing through the thread, is it just a matter of them using odd shipping methods? I'd like this figure I'm looking at, but not if I'm going to get hit with some absurd fee on the backend.

I can't say for certain, but so far I have not had to pay any tariff fees on the backend for any of my incoming packages from China, which have arrived from many different sources.
Aliexpress, however, has a small surcharge at checkout, like a buck or two, that didn't used to be there before. I reckon that's to cover the tariff import charge.
I'm not sure how China has found a work around, but I hope Japan manages to do it, too.

How is BBTS calculating their tariff because it looks like the percentage was about 2% on a $70 and 13% on a $300 vehicle. Are they adding more to the high priced items and not so much to the lesser priced items?
My next item might be a 1/6 figure at $280, so that might be as much as $36.

Some of it depends on the timing. It was outlined a few pages back or so where one of the rates is something like 15% if you preordered before April and the newer rate is 30% (might actually be in the Storm Collectibles thread since it concerned Ryu). They seem to eat more than half of it so 13% makes sense if the ultimate bill is 30%. And some manufacturers (like Hasbro) have been absorbing some or all of the tariff so far too so BBTS either has nothing or even less to pass on in that case.
