Third Party Figures

Man, I CANNOT get the peg onto Jessica's neck or head. Boiled the parts, tried shock oil, tried dish soap, it's just fucking impossible. I wish I could get it because this flips her from the best figure of the year to 50% useless since the second body is just a headless mannequin without the head. I'm starting to ding up the plastic of the peg and I'm worried I'm going to ruin the figure entirely because trying to get enough pressure makes me feel like I'm going to snap the plastic. I'm so fucking bummed out. Kinda sucks the joy out of the overall purchase even if the other half of the set is fine.

Like, is there a specialized tool I can buy? There's gotta be some Japanese ball-peg insertion device or something. I just can't get the angle to exert the pressure to get it into either the head OR the neck, just a stray barbell. Maybe the spare is smaller?

How long ago was that. All I remember was I had a luscious head of hair and I pushed my silky locks out of my eyes so that I could see the confirm button to order...
She was available to preorder until a few days ago. I literally had her in my cart and when I went to add a few things last week she was sold out.

I think if that is your situation, it is the time to Dremel with the softest touch. Like I said, I've seen others say that's what they had to do.

I'm pretty sure I ordered Quinn like 2 and 1/2, 3 years ago. 5K. And then I just pretended she didn't exist until I was pleasantly surprised last week.

Y'know, all these years of collecting I don't own a dremel. I actually think if I can find a tool with the right grip I can get enough torque to pop it in but my available kit just isn't the right combo. I ran into a similar problem with some Joes the other day but that's a 25 dollar figure made of plastic that can survive being chewed on by a four year old so I didn't feel so bad trying to force it.

As someone who made it without a Dremel for years, if you have an exacto or a flathead screwdriver you could also just try and Nick away at it. I'm sure the tolerance issue is like a fraction of a millimeter on the rim, because I was able to pop it in and it holds with a full range. So it can't just be entirely tight. It's got to be the entry.

If you could get like an eyeglass Phillips in there and give it a couple twists maybe.

All the head, don't mess with the peg.

No comments from the GI Joe crowd please.

An exacto is a brilliant idea. I bet if I shave just a little bit off that white plastic inner cup thing that's in both ends I could get it in there. I may try a hair dryer this weekend, too. it's so damned close it's infuriating (and also the peg being loose from both ends means I've got almost nothing to grab onto, with pliers or with my hands.)

Depending on how brave you are, i thick you could got to hobby town and try two get a round file and file out the hole just a bit… or sand down the peg.

I agree the head on mine was a super tight fit too

I REALLY need to buy a dremel. I used to tell myself "eh, do you REALLY need to buy a tool for customizing, when you rarely do it?", but I've found myself needing one for non-hobby stuff more often than not, so I really can justify the purchase.

LADo Toys Liya Alopex (Candyland Ver.) arrived the other day from Bombusbee and she's amazing like the first release. 10/10 no notes.

Couple of sweeties! Now if I could figure out a way to swap eyes between the faceplates I'd really be set. It's probably as simple as pushing them out, I'm just scared to try. The pink eyes with soft, grey eyeliner on Candyland Version looks really nice.

Don't make me threaten a "Furry" subnic.

Just made second payment for the Fury Toys Azure Lion at 5K. Wallet deflated.
THANK YOU! Sending the second payment request at 8:00 pm on a Friday is a GREAT way to get me to overlook that email & fail to make the second payment. We've been waiting for this one forever!
