They apparently have the license for a few years, and they very clearly said multiple times that this was only wave 1. I'm thinking that the next reveals will be either movie figures (if Nintendo shows off a trailer this year), or Ocarina of Time remake figures (since that game is coming out at the end of the year, supposedly). Maybe the reason Hasbro didn't start with Ocarina of Time figures is because they're waiting for the remake to come out, and will do figures based on that. Which I'm happy about, honestly, the new designs will probably be more detailed and figure-friendly.
After the initial disappointment of these being TotK based, I actually got pretty hyped about them. They honestly look really good. The faces are almost on model for the game models, they have some slight texturing, they have a nice amount of paint apps, and they have some really good articulation, pretty much the latest and greatest from Hasbro, maybe except the newer style of butterfly shoulders and toe joints. No ab crunches here, thank God!
Accessories are a bit sparce, though. No scabbard for Link (or a way to put the sword and shield on his back), no Purah Pad for Zelda (the Switch-looking thing she uses in the game) and no bow and arrow for Ganondorf. Plus no extra face plates, honestly this one stings the most. However, for the price I think its fine. I guess we can always buy the figma bootleg to get all the extras.
I preordered these of course. I'm very glad these exist, as I wasn't able to get the TotK figmas and they're honestly way too expensive now. It does seem the line will continue, so I'm hopeful they will get to games like Ocarina of Time (remake or otherwise), Twilight Princess, and maybe even classic Zelda.
