Well this is pretty interesting. I certainly trust Hasbro to make decent figures, but I don't see Nintendo changing their ways about being very restrictive about what can and can't be made. I am predicting a lot of stuff from TOTK, the new OOT, And the upcoming movie.

More curious about what this means for the master license that Jakks currently has and if Mario and everything else Nintendo wholly owns will head over to Hasbro as well.

I have a weird relationship with Legend of Zelda. I hate the games. Full on. But I've always liked the concept, and I've always liked some of the designs. In theory, I'd be down for a great Link figure. But the actual good ones are imports that cost way too much for something I don't really care much about. And the non-imports are just lame enough that they're not worth me spending -any- money on, again for something I don't care much about.

Hasbro has a good chance to hit that middle ground and get me to buy a fucking Link figure for the first time in my life.

My wife and I are big fans of the Zelda franchise so this is exciting news.

With the Ocarina of Time remake coming out I assume we'll get some product related to that.

I'm not getting my hopes up for this to be a very comprehensive line because I've seen video game figures struggle so often in the past. Zelda is a huge franchise and is currently active with an upcoming game and live action movie, so hopefully they can move the product.

Damn, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the news. I kid you not, just yesterday I was thinking, 'You know what, maybe Hasbro will get the license to do the movie figures next year, they got the Street Fighter license for the movie, it would be possible!'. But I thought, 'Nah, Nintendo don't do this type of things, they would never allow it' yet here we are.

And I think it's pretty obvious what they're showing next week. What basically every Zelda fan who collects toys would want. Ocarina of Time figures. They're showing 3 6" figures at SDCC. Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. It's not figures from the movie, since that hasn't really been revealed yet, and I don't think Nintendo's showing it off at SDCC (although it could be possible of course). I don't think it's something like Twilight Princess, not relevant enough, or the OoT remake, since they haven't shown anything yet (and probably will not show anything soon, since they just had their Nintendo Direct). No, I think these will be based on the classic game, maybe with the 3DS remake visuals or based on the concept art. They did the same thing with their Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones lines, making the first wave based on the classic movies and then doing a wave of the new. That's my hope for their Harry Potter line too.

Man I'm pretty excited here. I know it's Hasbro, I know what it could end up being, but they gotta know what people want, don't they? Their latest articulation, no ab crunches, a good number of accessories, no freaking exclusives. This is Zelda, its gaming royalty for goodness sake, and no one has done a good job with it for some reason. Maybe Hasbro will do it, or at least do it better than what figma or Jakks ever did.

Most speculation online is that these are movie figures. I'm going to assume that's the case so I don't get my hopes up.

Figma Tears of the Kingdom Link is one of the five best figures I own. If not for the absurd price, it'd be one of the easiest toy recommendations I could make. I'd only replace it with an adult Link in green of the same quality. Not likely.

I'm the same in that I don't have a connection to the games themselves, but I do love the VIBE of Legend of Zelda. I have over the years picked up two hideously expensive, and feels-very-breakable Link imports and I got the new Zelda that just came out and while they're beautiful figures, I'd love a line of Zelda figures that I don't worry about accidentally moving the wrist too quickly and snapping off a hand. Really curious what Hasbro does with this.

I'm a big fan of the series, played through like half of all of them through the years. My favorite is Twilight Princess, I love the visuals, the designs of the characters, the story and of course, the dungeons and the exploration. Fantastic games. I have a few of the figma and the Jakks releases (not the figma TotK Link, thanks to the absurd price), but honestly, none of them really satisfy my need for a good Link, Zelda and Ganondorf figures. For a while I dreamed of Neca doing them, then SH Figuarts, then Mafex... but Nintendo doesn't seem to be very interested in doing action figures for Zelda. Well, not anymore it seems!

If these are movie or BotW figures, I won't be particularly interested. If they're Ocarina of Time, hell yeah. I just hope it's an all encompassing license.

She's likely never happening, but I'd kill for a figure of Cia. OoT Impa would be great, too. And Midna ofc.

I'm down just because they can do likeness, and I want Zelda in pants. The Figma Tears is beautiful, but a paperweight.
