Super 7 Ultimates Thread

As the team fills out, I'm more and more tempted to complete the Lunataks.

I picked up the deluxe Cheetara and Tygra, so now I'm tempted to grab the new PO for Kit & Kat to complete the team, and display them next to the Silverhawks in my 80s case.

Glad the decision was made for me then!
Yeah that's what I said too. I don't even really remember the Lunataks from the show but looking up pictures they looked kind of fun together but when I saw Chilla was going to cost me $100 I changed my mind.

Seems the newer stuff from Super7 that isn't mass-produced for Target and Walmart is selling through at a quicker pace. The effect of all those discounted items we saw over the past two years or so. I went to a record store the other day that still had a couple MMPR Ultimates that were down to 20 bucks.

And when I saw that new Lion-O:

So, Chilla is objectively the best of the Lunataks, and yes she is from a wave that was produced in lower volume as reaction to the over production and subsequent discounting that had been happening across the board with Ultimates. Thats why the higher price now. She's a nice figure and I kind of wish I had ordered more than one. Maybe she'll get a Deluxe release down the line?

Is she the best? Why? Because she has a feminine, human body? The one I like most is that tiny chick who rides the huge guy. That’s awesome.

Well.. because she has a more forboding look (though i acknowledge that is not an objective standard) and a great and impressive power set and was genuinely more intimidating than Luna.

I also preferred Chilla. She was like a cross between Frosta and Evil-Lyn, and I dig that. Plus, the whole 'evil sorceress' thing she has going on. She seemed formidable on her own, which I like. Frankly, I just didn't like the rest of the Lunataks as a kid because I thought they looked stupid. WAY lamer than the core TCats villains. Chilla was the only one that felt like she could belong in the core group, whereas the rest of them (again, to me) look like they were drawn on a napkin over a weekend because someone in charge said 'we need more bad guys.'

Luna and Amok gave Jim Henson/Labyrinth vibes. I don’t remember anyone of the Lunataks in action in the show, but Luna and Amok still stood out to me because of their weirdness and codependency.

I always got Mad Max vibes from them. Which is cool, to be fair. I hate the design, but not necessarily the concept.

SDCC booths are expensive. I know some Hollywood studios have paid around 7 figures for their booths (may be including real estate and staff and transportation). So I can see a company like Super7 not wanting to pay tens of thousands of dollars. Especially if they already have an off-site store, which isn't exactly close to the convention. Walkable but not close.

I got my deluxe Cheetara and Tygra from Target. Anyone heard about the next deluxe Thundercats offerings? I imagine Panthro will be one of them. Assuming his colors will be a bit diffused. Would Snarf make sense? He seems to go for quite a bit of money on the aftermarket. I can see him coming with at least one less head and no accessories.

I’d hope for Snarf and Panthro next. I don’t even think I want any of the mutants but maybe Mumm-Ra the Everliving. But that one won’t be as low as $35.

Maybe Slithe? He is pretty pricey and a bare bones version with a slightly different paint job would probably be a good seller. Though I don't know if they could pull him off for $35.
