Super 7 Ultimates Thread

Unbelievable.

The first Thundertank is the low point of my collecting. You can still get it from BBTS  with an in-stock Panthro for less than this.

It's like the movie 'Brewster's Millions' but without the millions.

I foresee that Panthro getting a deluxe release. Kinda hoping this goes no where so that Panthro can come out as a single sooner.

I took advantage of some deals that led to me pulling the trigger on a couple other figures I probably could have waited on better prices for.

Hammerhand was cheap at Walmart dot com, so I grabbed him. He’s a cool figure with nice asymmetrical proportions. He has one hand that has articulated fingers but you can’t get a whole lot of poses, which is why I guess they also included a big fist.

Captain Cracker was also cheap on Walmart, so I grabbed him. He’s fine, I don’t love his cartoony face, even though it’s source accurate. Just not much going on here. I don’t know why they don’t just make the robotic bird have swappable wings instead of including two complete birds with wings folded and extended.

Quick Pick was an Amazon pick up, with just a mild sale, nothing as deep as the former two. But he’s easily the nicest of the three, and maybe one of the best in the line. Love his lanky proportions and color scheme. He has hinged fingers on one set of hands, so those are all I will need, though the tighter pinch set would be better for holding accessories like his hat or key. This figure just oozes cool for me. I have the vaguest memories of him from the show, but if he’s a Mandora ally, I’m all in.

I'm just impressed they were able to get Amazon to take it. Just wait until the next Prime Day and it will be half off.

Here's all the details straight from Brian:

So apparently it sold well enough for Amazon that they wanted more (according to Brian so take that as you will). Plus a completely new Panthro (top to bottom) so I'm sure he'll pop up in the deluxe line soon enough.

Doubt we'll see it here on Amazon Canada, but I'll keep an eye out and see if they try and sell it here as well (for some stupid price I'm sure).

I was anticipating your post, and you delivered.
That's what I'm here for. I really wanted a more nuanced post, but what do you even say to this horseshittery?

Like asking my cats if they've been fed yet.

At this time, I do not have the requisite information to dispute his claim, but goddamn it seems suspicious. Weird that Amazon would request anything from Super7 while half of their S7 inventory has been on sale for years. But maybe, I guess. Depends on who the buyer is. Sounds more like 'give us something exclusive so maybe we can guarantee it will sell or we're going to stop carrying your discount bin bullshit.' But I could absolutely be wrong.

Maybe @RicksNerdLife could chime in if -he- still has any friends left at S7 that weren't laid off.

Well, after their rather dumb Thundertank decisions, and the fact I was on the Super7 site looking around and still can't believe they charge an extra $6 tariff charge to your order on merchandise that has been in their possession long before tariffs were an issue.....here is some positive Super7 news.

I got the Vac Metal Quicksilver and Steelheart on sale during Prime Days as I mentioned on here. I got them in today, and I love these things. I always held off on the cartoon versions even though I felt like I wanted them. But these Silverhawks in the toy colors with Vac Metal make me happy I waited.

I liked them so much I went to BBTS and ordered Steelwill, Bluegrass, and Mon*Star's Toy versions, and plan to get the rest sometime soon.

The Vac Metal figures look beautiful, and they look so good displayed. Whether or not they are worth what they cost is definitely questionable, but they are beautiful figures and I'm very happy to have them.

I got my Cortex Commander, and I actually love him. He's not got the best articulation, but he's just a really fun concept. And his accessories are all great, even if I wish there were a few more.

Yeah... apparently Brian Flynn said that Amazon came to them asking for more of the Thundertank, so they decided to do a redeco and use it as an excuse to do new molds for Panthro, since they lost the previous Mattel molds. This is how we wii get our deluxe Panthro at Target in a few months.

Super7 has a new CEO: Geoff Walker

I don’t know anything about him, but I laughed out loud reading this part of the press release: “With this evolution, Super7 is doubling down on what makes it special: unparalleled creativity, fan obsession, and relentless attention to quality.”
