Super 7 TMNT figures

I have not a single MOTU or Thundercats in my collection. Mattel has almost gotten me with their affordable price points, though, and Amazon/Target deals. The Thundercats Deluxe figs have almost gotten me a couple times, but I keep remembering they are S7 and they are such bare bones releases compared to NECA figs.

TBH I probably wouldn't have many turtles if only S7 had gotten the license and that's saying something. But NECA's price point of $25-$35 for the bulk of their figures in my collection now seems like an insane deal compared to the level of quality and accessory load out. I'm always surprised to see how cheap some of their figs are reselling on eBay.

I'd be ok with just a Jon Bon Jovi figure if they'd give us at least some other rockers of the era. Gimme Eddie Van Halen. Slash.

I might buy NECA TCats, but I'm probably among those who sunk enough into S7 that I'd be at least a little reluctant to start over. The difference with MotU Classics vs Masterverse, is that Masterverse is cheaper and easier to acquire. MotUC was online only, sometimes subscription based, sometimes sold out. A switch from S7 to NECA might still be cheaper and accessible, but not as cheap as Masterverse. That might be enough to keep me away.

You can't do Slash and not do Axl. And if you're gonna do Axl and Slash... you gotta do Jon and Richie. C'mon NECA. No excuse for this.

Point being - I think the problem I have with NECA, and that maybe other people will have, is that the line basically has to prove successful and get through several waves before you can feel like you can trust NECA to stick with it. And even then it kind of depends. So by the time you know NECA is actually going to do something worth having, you may have already skipped the first two years of product.

So glad they reissued the Mirage turtles, because I had no idea they would go this far, even as I skip much of it.

I picked up waves 7 & 8 from BBTS since they have them for 40-45% off. I had picked up the first 6 waves and Zak in similar sales in the past.

A lot of this line is being discounted at BBTS. That’s the only worthwhile way to collect this line. The big gorilla is down to $45 and the Triceraton is $33. Some of the old figures are down in the 20s like Leatherhead and Scratch.

I bought several of the waves that were 30-50% off and them in my POL. I kind of like that this line (at least the figures that are supposed to be like the original ‘87 Playmates line) seems to be done. Most lines go on and on and on. It’ll be nice to passively collect something that has an end point.

The line is dead to me. I'll take a 2k3 Shredder and be done with it. If they ever come back to the vintage stuff I'll take a look, but by then they'll want $85.

Hahahaha.... remember when I said all their regular figures would be 65 bucks shortly? You all thought I was crazy.
Super7 is -easily- the greediest toy company currently in business. And they deserve to not be in business. Please don't give them 65 fucking dollars for 25 dollar toys.

At this point I just hope it ends so Neca can poach the license. I like my Turtles but Neca can do better and at a price where I don't feel like I'm being severely taken advantage of.

NECA doesn't have to poach. The ONLY thing stopping them from making anything Super7 makes is a handshake agreement to not do that.

Right. But if Super 7 goes away or decides enough people aren't buying it and cancels, then Randy and Neca won't feel bound to any gentleman's agreements.

If the 2k3 stuff is selling as well as Kyle claimed it was, then Nickelodeon probably wouldn't approve of NECA stepping into 2k3 stuff, but as soon as those sales tank (and it looks like it will by wave 3) that loyalty (if you want to call it that) would probably dry up pretty quickly.
