Most of the designs I like are unnamed mutant/creature characters, or implausibly large/complex Baxter/Shredder iterations. So I'm not expecting to put THAT much money into this line if it goes on (if you ignore how much they already cost and how much more they will down the line). I didn't care for Fast Forward at all, but if they made nice enough Dark Turtles I'd probably consider those.
Based on my list you could probably tell that I’m a pretty rabid fanboy of this show. But understand that as far as TMNT was concerned, this was the show that got me out of my funk when it came to this property after a 10 year sabbatical. I never watched a lot of the original tv series when it was on during its original air date. I stuck around for the first 3 seasons or so, occasionally delving into the Burger King Kids club vhs tapes, (mostly because my local Blockbuster video managed to get their hands on a few of those) and I only had the first one or two waves of the original toys as well.
Most of my engagement when it came to the TMNT in the 90’s came from the video games, the aforementioned figures and the live action movies. And I clung onto it until around 93 but then started to mostly focus on super heroes thanks to the rise of tv shows on fox kids.
But when the TMNT came back in 2003 I suddenly had a reawakening I hadn’t experienced before when it came to this property. I was all in. I watched the show through completion multiple times over. During its original syndication, when it came out on dvd, I saw it during the early days of YouTube..I even had a torrent of it at one point. I also played all of the video games on the GameCube and Ps2 that came out around that period, I collected the toys, got into the adult collectibles when Neca came onto the scene I’ve read the mirage and IDW comics, I’ve seen multiple movies, I went back and played the old games from the 90’s…and inevitably over these last 20+ years that train just kept rolling along until the present day. I haven’t gotten off this ride since I first came across that show while I was channel scrolling in my college dorm room and that show flashed across my screen.
So yeah if Super7 is committed, then I’m right there with them full stop. Kyle has stated it himself that these are “His turtles” and he’s not that much younger than I am. He would have been a freshman in high school when this series aired. I am hoping we are of two minds and he reads this.
