Star Wars Black Series

The Jedi Council gals have shipped! Been waiting for those two. Bad news, they shipped via DHL so I should get them in like eighteen days.

I tend to think of Pulse deliveries via DHL as “set it and forget it”. I just try to keep it out of mind until I’m pleasantly surprised when it shows up.

My Jedi gals shipped as well, and it looks like Rex and Anakin are getting ready to ship. I recently opened my Moff Gideon in armor, Praetorians and Sebulba.

All of them are great, really fun figures. But Sebulba really surprised me. I love that figure. I do love Episode I (it honestly is my favorite Star Wars film), so I was excited for Sebulba. But his accessories, all the detail and paint apps, his engineering and articulation. He is a fantastic figure.

He might be a bit too big compared to the other figures. But it's not so out of scale it's a bother. It doesn't take away from how cool this toy is.

Sebulba's definitely a bit out of scale, he's an absolute unit, but I like it cos it means we get more detail and his limbs are sturdier (some of the more delicate aliens and droids make me nervous they're just too small and will break).

And yeah, when Pulse chooses DHL I choose to think of it as "forced waiting" to space out figures arriving. Fedex in my araa is insanely fast so when Pulse uses them I usually have the figures in a day or two. DHL... eh, they show up as a surprise eventually. (UPS is bloody CHAOS around here. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, frequently boxes arrive looking like they were kicked the entire way.)

I was just in the mood to army build. Sometimes the need and want to army build Star Wars just hits me. So, I bought another pack of the Clone and Battle Droid, and a pack of the Stormtrooper and Rebel Trooper off of Pulse.

lets hope that eases the need and I don't go crazy and buy like 5 more lol.

That is only a squad! If you really have the urge to army build you are going to need to go for the 5 more.

I would be an easy mark if they started making more generic rebels with different heads - my neurosis about wanting unmasked heads to all be unique keeps me limited. I do have two of each because it's possible to display the ANH, Hoth, and Endor troopers with two faces or at least hair colors on the former, but fortunately I'm picky enough to keep from going crazy. Stormtroopers though...

Dude, can you imagine if they just sold face packs?

I'm with you, doc. While I only need two of each trooper to represent the faceless hordes, there needs to be some variation between them. My two Lightning Collection Putties have different stripe patterns; one of the Cobra Vipers is not wearing the scarf; this stormtrooper has an orange pauldron. You get the idea. The swappable faces on the Endor Commando was perfect for me (especially when they went on clearance).

I'd be screwed if Hasbro started doing face packs.

I do have some duplicate Stormtroopers (from back when they weren't re-releasing them all the time) and some dupes in Classified but only the first trooper and viper when it looked like they weren't going to be doing tons of repaints. My favorite part about the Legends generics is it's possible to have a ton of mix and mash faces. None of my hydra, aim, or shield troopers are the same.

The lack of face options was the biggest damper on me army building the Endor guys. I would have loved to have more than two.

I don't blame you and I'd be the same way. It's why, when I first started with BS, I only had one Death Star Trooper.

What you want is something like the choices on Battlefront where you can make them different species too.

Oh if we could start putting Bith or Duros heads on troopers? DOOMED. I'd be doomed.

:D That order was only a squad. Or as Ru said, a platoon maybe. But when you take into account, I have bought multiples of every release of every army builder since the beginning of this line and occasionally get in the mood to army build like I did today and buy packs or lots of army builders........

Believe me when I tell you guys, I have armies. And I just keep adding to the ranks. I used to just try and stay around 2 or 3 of some, or maybe 3 or 4 of more important army builders like Stormtroopers or Clones.

But yeah, those days are gone. I had to admit to myself how much I love Star Wars, and how much I love this scale and line. No need to hold back.

And if Hasbro did head packs or face packs, I would be so irresponsible and ruin my life.

Man, Hasbro just needs more packs in general- whether it's face packs for Rebels/Imperials/Jedi/etc., weapons packs, robes packs, what have you. One of the things I loved about the Phantom Menace line way back in the day were the various accessory packs. I know I had the underwater one, but all 4 were really cool. Some sort of build-up pack for Black Series would be amazing-

Trooper Pack: swappable armor pieces or decals (different colors, battle damage, etc.), various weapons (rifles, blasters, sentry guns, etc.), various swappable hands, face plates or swappable alien heads, figure base w/battlefield deco

Jedi Pack: Robe or poncho, lightsaber hilts/blades of different colors, holocron, Clone Wars armor pieces, rebreathers, force effects (including various swappable hands), figure base w/battlefield or temple deco

Sith Pack: Mostly the same as the Jedi pack, just more Sith-centric

Smuggler/Bounty Hunter Pack: various currencies, camtono, blasters, face plates/heads, cargo crate, holopuck w/bounties, splicing tools, data pads/hacking tools, various helmets/hoods/goggles/disguise pieces

Not to mention the infinite possibilities of their own Build-A-Droid packs.

Could even throw in a small creature from time to time. It would mostly be reuse of existing parts, or reuse of new parts, so a relatively safe investment for Hasbro.
