I really enjoy that 2 pack of Palpatine and Windu. I definitely recommend it. I have wanted a Palpatine from the Office Dual in Black Series for a long time though. So, I might be a bit biased. But I think any Star Wars fan would enjoy this 2 Pack. The figures look great, and that office dual with the Jedi coming to arrest Palpatine is so iconic, then the one-on-one battle between Palpatine and Mace. How could you not want to recreate that in toy form.
 
I ordered the office duel set last night. I'm not wild about Palpatine not having any sort of design printing on his robes; it's all the more odd when you realize that Barriss and young Dooku both had/have printed fabric, but it's not a deal breaker. I'd rather just have the character in figure form at all. Something tells me we'll see a single release of him down the road, just without the extra accessories, so maybe they'll fix the robe thing then.

Forgotten I'd gotten rid of my regular Mace in favor of just the Clone Wars version, so I'm glad to have another regular Mace. But this is definitely adding to my want of Saesee and Agen, so here's hoping we'll see them sooner rather than later! As long as they come with their Jedi robes.

And I was home all fucking night last night, just not on my computer FOR ONCE. WHY THE FUCK can't Hasbro just COMMUNICATE to their customers when items go up for sale?!

This is the only NYCC set I wanted and it's the only one sold out.

SO FUCKING PISSED RIGHT NOW - TWICE IN ONE FUCKING YEAR.

So sorry. This was such a weird drop, even by Hasbro's standards. It was supposed to go up at 1 pm today, but dropped right after midnight. I wouldn't have known about it either, but I set up post notifications for YakFace's Instagram. They've saved my butt on multiple occasions. If you have the ability to do so yourself, I'd definitely recommend it.

I wasn't too worried about this because I thought this set was also going to be available at the Disney Store website - but now that I'm trying to confirm that I'm not seeing that info.

AND Palpatine is not currently rumored for a mainline release. Just... fuck.
 
I wanted it, but being a Hasbro Plop exclusive means that I didn't expect to be able to get it.

I'd bet decent money on a single Palpatine release, be it six months from now or six years. There hasn't really been any exclusive figure that didn't get re-released somehow down the line. Maybe without a part or two, but you know Hasbro will never pass up a chance to make money. It's not like he's a Zuvio or Elan Sleazebaggano- there will always be demand for Palpatine. Be it a single release, a sorta "evolution" 3 pack, etc., we'll keep seeing him.
 
I'll honestly be shocked if we don't see him revealed as a single in two weeks. Just long enough for folks to buy the two pack open it up, put it on display, and then realize they just bought their third or fourth Mace Windu to get him.
 
At the risk of making folks annoyed, I ended up dragging my feet on the Windu/Palpatine set until a few days ago and after having it in my cart for like a week I picked it up. Just opened it alongside Revenge Anakin. Mace's new color palette is nice but it was kinda funny to be like "oh, he's got the old knees!" cos they haven't done those in a while. Palpatine is... for me at least, weirdly satisfying. It's a great likeness. I want to something odd to display him, like I wonder who would be by his side while he was exploring the whole Sith thing, because he looks great with lightsaber in hand and the other arm outstretched and pointing, like he's just spotted an ancient Sith temple on Korriban.

For what it's worth, this Mace is, aside from a color swap on his robes and the extra head, nearly identical to the one from a few years back that can still be had for about 30 bucks in a lot of places. (Now that I have a few Maces in hand over the years I think my favorite is the one with the white gauntlets because he combines the normal robes with just a hint of the armor where the General Windu armored version is a lot more bulky.)
 
I can't believe they didn't give Palpy the texture on his softgoods, not even printed on. C'mon Hasbro!
