Star Wars Black Series

So is that Chewbacca just the same old one from the beginning of the line or does he have new parts? I'm mostly checked out of Star Wars Black series but like to update OT characters when I can. He doesn't look vastly different to me but I don't have my old ones out to compare at the moment.

That’s the same question I came here to ask about Chewie. Han is a clear upgrade, but I’ll probably buy Chewie just to match. Surprised Dash doesn’t even have scruff. Or the backpack. But I can try to find an extra Bill Burr for that.

Never knew I wanted an Intergalactic Trucker Cal Kestis. I'm all over Dash Rendar. Is that a new Death Trooper?

I'm not sure if the Death Trooper is new or just a re-release. He and the Shoretrooper are in Rogue One packaging too, and Pulse exclusive. Krennic and the ISB guy are Target.

Ugh, Merrin looks so good. I'm really happy they did her hood as a solid plastic piece too; as much as I love a good hood, some of the ones on the Jedi robes are a little unruly.

Turgle and Skoova look great. A bit of a bummer there's not more articulation on ol' Turgs, but I can deal with it. I'm still just flabbergasted we're getting him at all, and he does basically just stand there in the game.

Cool that they're doing the Death Trooper and Shore Trooper 2 pack. Those are 2 of my fav troopers, and luckily I have a handful of them already, so unless the bodies are new, I'll be able to skip this one. Keep on bringing the army packs, Hasbro!

Of course they do a Krennic with a fabric cape the day after I open my new one. I think that's the only way the updated one could've really been improved, personally. Maybe if the coronation Krennic ever goes on sale, I'll pick him up. Can one ever have too much Mendelsohn on the shelf?

Oh, also wanted to ask, and wasn't sure where else to put this question- what do ya'll recommend for tightening up loose joints or soft limbs on figures? Keeping in mind I have less than zero customization skills. Would something like a spray adhesive work? I'm not too picky on if they're locked into one position forever, since I only just started experimenting with posing. I mostly ask because I still can't get any of my B1 battle droids to stand up after all these years. I know there's some special stands for them, which I'm tempted to just shell out for, but if there's a way to make them stand freely without it, I'd love to hear it. Alternatively, if you guys have any fun display options, by all means. I saw someone display theirs as having fallen in battle, and the clone troopers were running over them. May just try that, since I wouldn't even need to worry about standing them up. 😅

One trick is to use super glue. Not to freeze the joint, but add a very small dab, and continue to work the joint (giggety) so it doesn't seize up. It should be tighter.

The Battle Droids are notorious for not standing though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

DarthDre758 and I discussed this already, but I said Dash looks like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and he said Prince Charming from Shrek. I feel we're both right
It's weird as I remember him having much shorter hair, and being a lot more gruff looking.

I'm still getting him.

Dang it. I sold off all my Black Series figures because I just wasn't collecting them really anymore and wanting to streamline my collecting habits. I avoided buying the new upgraded Darth Vader, Leia and Luke from A New Hope even though they looked so good. I justified it because Han and Chewie were/are my favorite Star Wars characters and without them I didn't need the others. Now I have no excuse! Han looks great! Chewie looks like he has more range in his elbows to hold bowcaster with both hands now and head maybe turns more for good shooting poses. The head sculpts are so good! Why Hasbro? Why!? Why must you torture me this way! Just when I think I am out, they pull me back in!

chiming in to say that Han and Chewie are (y)(y)(y)

it looks like Chewie's arms and head are new.... legs don't have thigh cut so maybe they're new as well? I always thought the first Black Series Chewie was a bit too tall so maybe they shrunk him as well, I dunno

I also have no attachment to the games, but that alien that comes with Cal Kestis looks cool. However it looks to have no elbow or knee joints so I'll be waiting for a review to see if the set is worth it just for an alien I'm unfamiliar with that has poor articulation.

I can't visually spot difference in Chewie, but those poses tell me if nothing else they've added range to his horrible ROM so he can actually hold the bowcaster with both hands. If he's got better articulation it's worth the money - I don't hate the old Chewie (I honestly think the SOLO one is my favorite) but to get some more poses out of him I'll upgrade. And dangit, fine, FINE, I'll get the new ANH Han so he's the same as Luke and Leia. They just keep getting me to buy Han over and over again, I have no willpower.

I barely played the Kestis games but they really are just cool figures every time they release someone from them. Trucker Cal does nothing for me but I do like a set that helps build out the universe with aliens. Same thought on the articulation - Are those limbs bendy rubber? Intrigued/curious how he works. Not a must-buy but call me curious.

I never loved Dash Rendar like so many other people do, but I'm all for supporting the Shadow of the Empire subline. He does need a bit of scruff, but thanks, ru1977, now I CAN'T not see the mashup of the prince and Jamie Lannister in that sculpt. Though to be fair, if they'd cast Nikolaj as Dash in his prime in a live action production, that would have been inspired.
