Star Wars Black Series

@docsilence, sorry... I even thought about that. The reason to NOT share that observation is it may diminish the enjoyment of others. but you're right, maybe around Black Hawk Down era Nikolaj? honestly, with how much charisma he has, in a way that is not very Harrison Fordy, he could have single handedly distinguished Dash as his own character rather than a substitute smuggler.

One trick is to use super glue. Not to freeze the joint, but add a very small dab, and continue to work the joint (giggety) so it doesn't seize up. It should be tighter.

The Battle Droids are notorious for not standing though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Do you need to work the joint (giggity again) until the glue dries, or just to spread the glue throughout? Any specific brand recommendations? I know some dry much faster/stronger than others.

Snagged the Visions set, just for SnG. I know we're supposedly getting a main release of the figures later this year- probably in color, I'd imagine?- but I like the screen-accurate black and white. Worse comes to worse, I'll keep them in package and wait until they show off the main releases, and decide from there.

Damnit, I was looking at the Dash figure again and just saw another one:

Without the scruff...

Finally a Dash Rendar.

With those gnarly single-joints, no facial hair, no jet pack, with boring average-guy proportions.
Sorry I haven't collected this line in years, I'm just your average nerd millenial who has nostalgia for n64 Shadows of the Empire.
That's who wanted this toy, right? And they couldn't make him look anything like the game character?

Cody got delivered just now. He was packed in a flimsy paper mailer, and the poor box looked like it had barely survived Order 66 itself. Luckily, the figure was undamaged. Feels so much nicer than the old one. Not that I love spending more money, but I do hope they go back and give us Bly, Gree, Wolffe, and Fox on the new body. I'm not super picky about the lack of facial scars, since he'll be keeping his helmet on in my display.

I do really dig the Palpatine hologram and hope we get more little holopucks (especially since the Holocomm Series crashed and burned), but they're gonna have to do something about the hands. He can hold it well enough, but with 2 gun hands, you gotta stretch out his fingers, and even then, it's usually at an angle due to the shape of his hand. Not the biggest problem, but something to think about; at least implement the wrist articulation- maybe a balljoint?- to be able to straighten it out a bit.

Technically, I wanted Dash almost entirely because of how much I loved the '90s action figure. So this hits the right buttons for me except in one very specific way; he has that BORING blaster. Where are his PotF guns? Those were way better and more visually interesting/unique.

But the reveals have been awesome. I haven't been this excited for Star Wars stuff in a while. Dash Fucking Rendar, even imperfect, is such a huge want for me. Almost done with some decent remakes of the ANH core cast. And another version of Cal, WITH Merrin?!, is very welcome. First time in maybe years where I was excited for almost every reveal.

At this point, there's like ... three figures I still want them to make and after that I legitimately don't even care if SWB continues. While those figures probably won't happen (or at least one of them won't), a man can dream.

If anyone was looking for that exclusive Visions set, it has just popped up on Amazon and I haven't clicked buy this fast in a long time.

Thanks.

To do both really. Spread it around and give it time to dry.

The figures revealed at Celebration are up for pre order. I got Dash, Han, Chewy, and Merrin.

Did you guys see the news there was going to be a Darth Maul show? I'm really happy about that. Maul is one of my all-time favorites.

Very curious about the Maul show. Also I'm not super invested in the feature film stuff at the moment, but Gosling in a film called Starfighter makes me hope we at least have several scenes with him arguing with an R2 unit. I feel like he man was born to argue with a beeping booping robot.

Got the 4 pre-orders too. Glad they're not too far off- summer is just around the corner.

The Maul show sounds promising; maybe we'll finally get more info on his time in Crimson Dawn with Qi'ra (I know it was explored a bit in comics, but I haven't read those). Starfighter sounds like it could be fun too. I'm down for Star Wars Top Gun.

Really hoping Starfighter can give us a glimpse at that promised land of good, standalone Star Wars stories that don't need to be tied into the bigger universe/arc. It's such a fertile land for imagination if they let writers and directors go crazy with it.

So to plan way out before he even arrives, any ideas for alternate head options for Dash? Maybe something from Classifieds would stylistically fit in with Black Series?

Is Benty on here? He’s who I usually beg when I’m hoping for a very specific custom headsculpt.

Couldn't agree more. Never thought I'd be disappointed with Dash but his head looks completely off. I can live without the beard/stubble but he had red hair ...

I ordered and received Luminara Unduli and Armored am off Gideon yesterday. Both are decent figures.

Luminara has so much cloth goods that don’t look fantastic, but I can’t see another way to do her costume. I do like how different her outfit is from standard Jedi robes. I think her skin color came out too pale and she almost doesn’t look like she has a digital face print, just an old school tampo face.

Gideon is fine. The helmet fits well, covering his hair which has a weird abrupt hairline. He comes with extended and contracted versions of an electro staff, and a pistol that holsters, but the holster strap barely plugs in.

I canceled both at Pulse, which I may wind up doing from now on. I haven’t been able to place my last three orders due to site errors (something about bad connections or high volume of orders no matter how long after the items go up). I missed out on the Classified C.L.A.W. and MCU Punisher thanks to those shenanigans. Can’t rely on that site.
