Star Wars Black Series

Someone at my Walmart must hate action figure shippers. If I'm lucky, they'll set up an endcap or an aisle side display. I shake my head at some of the toy shippers that make it to my store's floor but they won't put something out like a Star Wars or WWE. The Black Panther Monopoly shipper frustrated me for about a month.

Received the SotE 2pk from Pulse this week, and picked up Commander Bacara from GameStop. Apparently Walmart is getting a shipper of new stuff, but I didn’t see any sign of it this week. Just looking for Commander Cody at this point, though I have him POed.
Keep an eye on the SW section for those figures too. Monday, my store had Cody on the pegs, but nothing else. This morning, they had more Cody, and the rest of that shipper on the shelves. I picked up Anakin and Rex. I want to compare the real Rex to the Ali Express version.

Jelly of all you guys who are close to WalMarts and are finding the new wave. I know I just have to be patient until my online pre-orders hit, but that's no fun.

I did manage to find Savage at GameStop yesterday, and with my monthly $5 coupon, he was basically the price of a regular figure, which was nice. He's a very well done figure- I really dig the butterfly joints and how they implemented his shoulder armor. The softer plastic on his fingers is a major win too- no more prying the fingers open to get him to hold stuff. Torn on if I want to display him with the axe/spear/spaxe or his lightsaber, so right now he's dual-wielding.

Got my replacement Baraca from Pulse and I'm glad I futzed around with replacing the broken figure. He really is a nice variation on the regular clone troopers. Makes me think I gotta break out that Outer Rim backdrop I've been saving and do some trooper setups. I wish there were more generic troopers in Black Series - they did great with all three from ANH/Hoth/Endor, but I might need to put troopers up against Joes or something to really make the battle pop.

Basically, yes lol. In Barboursville, West Virginia. I live in Ohio, but the nearest Target to me is that one in WV, about 45 minutes away. And it sits atop a hillside vista as you put it. There are other stores up there as well. But the Target is right near the back edge of a pretty big hill that goes down to a highway beneath it. Last year, the hillside began giving away not only from some erosion, but also from some nearby construction work.

They closed the Target fearing it would just slide down the edge of the Hill.

They took the time it was closed to secure the Hill, and oddly, make the Target bigger. And they promise, it won't fall.

I don't trust them. If that store ever falls, I will be getting ahold of Justice and his people so we can dig for buried toys.
This all sounds like the set up for The Mothman Prophecies 2, sponsored by Walmart!

I absolutely love what the Black Series team is doing with Shadows of the Empire. Luke in disguise brings me right back to the PotF line & they did a great job on this figure. But they need to stop screwing around & get us our Dash Rendar ASAP!

I wonder if they’ll do Lando in that imperial disguise, or Guri, or Luke in the vest? Dash first tho.

Dash should absolutely be single-carded, and it would be hilarious if they dropped Imperial Lando and safari-vest Luke in yet another two-pack.

Oh no - every Lando is a mainstream retail release and only ships to stores as a solo figure in solid cases.

Just got a bunch of email updates from Amazon saying that a ton of stuff is coming tomorrow- all the figures people have been finding at WalMart (minus Cody, of course), plus Luminara. No updates on Shaak Ti and Sebulba, unfortunately, but I'm cool waiting a bit. I'll have plenty of plastic goodness to keep me entertained (and my wallet drained).

Was really hoping to go to Star Wars Celebration this week, but unfortunately life has been life-ing and I wasn't able to make it work, so a tsunami of Black Series goodies will definitely help ease the pain a bit. Looking forward to whatever is revealed there, though! Really hope they finally show the Stranger and Merrin.

Found the remnants of the Star Wars Walmart shipper this morning. No carded figures were left. Most of the window boxed were there. Picked up Gideon and Anakin. Of course Amazon is bringing them tomorrow as well. I’ll just keep the 2 with the best paint applications and return the other ones.

Walmart usually sticks to their preorder dates no matter what - I think I've only had one non-Walmart exclusive that actually shipped early. So I guess I'll be waiting until 6/1 for Cody. :(

BUT - I did find Moff Gideon at Target today! Did a double-take when I realized it was an actual NEW new figure. Target's done a great job stocking and actually re-stocking the Leia/Luke wave - I hope this is a trend that will continue.

Now I can "complete" my Mando shelf!

Picked up Savage yesterday. Saw him Friday, passed at the $50 Canuck. Had to go back in the plaza Sunday and they were down to two, and one was janky.

Feel like I'll never see him again with the state of Toronto (TRUs closing, Gamestops closing, Wal Mart is bootycheeks), so I copped him.

Like Maximum Spidey, pricey for what's in the box, but on a pure happiness level, this guy delivers.

I got a shipping soon e-mail for the new Krennic from Hasbro Pulse. He is scheduled for April 21. I imagine the others from that Wave will ship around then as well since they are being found already at retail on the May the 4th displays at Wal-Mart.

So, to those that have Krennic, Anakin, Rex, Moff Gideon, and his Praetorians on pre order, prepare yourself. We are about get figures!

I think Andor in his TIE outfit is in that Wave too. But I didn't pre order that one.

I got Pulse notification about Andor shipping soon. No idea the context of his TIE outfit, but anything to with that show I'm in.
